Alternative models are under consideration to replace them.

Well, the future is looking bleak for Mercedes wagons. Where Volvo is determined to keep both wagons and sedans alive, Mercedes is allegedly taking a different route.

According to a new Automobilwoche report, the German automaker plans to discontinue offering any wagon in its line-up by the end of the decade.

The dominos will start to fall with the CLA Shooting Brake, which will disappear from the Mercedes lineup for the 2025 model year, with no successor planned. A future generation E-Class, which will allegedly arrive in 2030, won’t offer a wagon variant either, according to the report.

Mercedes introduced the latest-generation C-Class with a traditional wagon model, also offering a high-riding All-Terrain version that’s only available in Europe, but who knows how long those will survive.

^And that's HP at the wheels. Likely around 470 or so at the cranko_O

Here's your first look at Travis Pastrana's modified Subaru GL Wagon

Gymkhana star reveals his boxy new Subaru, and it's delightfully Eighties good

This just in, TopGear.commers: Travis Pastrana and Subaru have revealed the latest addition to the Gymkhana hall of fame, and it is a... modified 1983 Subaru GL Wagon. Because nothing screams socking great skids and huge, graceful jumps like a... 1983 Subaru GL Wagon.

Clearly, this being a Hoonigan production, and Subaru Motorsports not being shy of going flat out, it would be prudent to expect a healthy amount of horsepower emanating from the flanks of the delightfully boxy wagon. Though, we've only got these images to go on right now, so stay tuned for more info...

Spotted a nice clean E46 325i wagon that I just had to park next to when out on a Nandos run earlier tonight. I'd have taken a pic but I would like to first give the Avant a good clean. I've tackled the inside but the outside is full of Vrystaat dust, as we aren't allowed to wash cars with the ongoing drought :(

So I'm about three weeks into wagon ownership and I am starting to think it's like a cult.

Last night at the local Engen, I popped into the shops for some chewing gum and on my way out, there was a blue E46 Touring filling up. I walked to the car and see this guy giving me the nod of approval and a thumbs up as I walked past. I don't know the guy from Bob so I just returned the nod.

Then, earlier today, also probably not even 200m from said garage, there was a B6 Avant approaching from the front who flashed his lights and waved as I went past. I don't know anyone else with a station wagon so I guess the guy was just happy to see another one on the road. At first I thought it was the neighbour across the road from us who also happens to drive a silver B6 Avant, but when I pulled in, his car was still parked outside. So who knows who this dude was but it seems like we have a few in our area.

I also spotted a B8 S4 Avant on my way back home from the attorneys, odd as I've only ever seen one S4 in wagon trim before, and that was a B6 with the 4.2l mill. I didn't think we received the B8 S4's at all, but I guess they are just super scarce.

So...I guess I'm part of a cult now?

Michael Schumacher’s ex-C 63 company wagon now up for sale

The W204 C 63 AMG is a special car by default with its virile and masculine growl but what makes this swooping rooftop version even more special is that it’s a wagon. However the real showstopper is that this was Michael Schumacher’s ex-C 63 company wagon and it is now up for sale!

Michael Schumacher for many will be one of the most complete Formula 1 drivers to ever have lived, lingering in discussions on who the greatest that ever competed actually was. He first retired after his successful stint at Ferrari at the end of the 2006 season but was poised to make a return to the sport in 2010 and build the Mercedes GP Petronas F1 Team to the powerhouse that eventually dominated the hybrid era. The welcoming gift to the 7-time World Champion and family man from management was this C 63 wagon.
