Cops let dog suffer at roadblock

Its not about the carrying the pets or trying...

Given that the cops had stopped him in the roadblock, if he had TRIED to leave it.. he would have been in even MORE *** from those cops.
 
It would be nice if civil servants operated according to a code of ethics and not some twisted egotistical conception of their function.

It's sad this really. The only cops I've ever deal with are English Metropolitan. I can tell you know without a shadow of a doubt they would've shown some compassion and been as speedy as possible, this guy would've been out of there in a matter of minutes. This was such a cold hearted thing to do. Something very wrong with this country's police. It may not have made a difference to the animals life, but imagine how different this article could've been: "JMPD help save pet".

Right, I'll post some tomorrow for you. Photo's are on my old hard drive and haven't copied them to the new one yet. I think she's a beaut but I'm a cat fan too so I'm biased.;)

You're lucky, dude. Most JMPD numbskull's I've had dealings with are rude, ignorant, aggressive and totally unhelpful. But I have also come across one or two decent ones too, not saying that all JMPD are bad. And you're right, if the idiots had done something different, the whole thing could have turned out different, if only in the sense that JMPD might have had a more humane face. Now they just come out looking like thugs.

Thx Ronjay, agh they are all beauts, just some a little weird looking like the Sphynx hehehe. I want one, they're just a little pricey.

Yeah, I love those because someone in my family is allergic to cats and i heard that because they are hairless she wont have a problem with it. But what a price.
 
Metro = Jumped up traffic officers.

Over the years I have only met one who was worthy of respect, the rest ya well.

Trying to get out of a queue at a roadblock will mark you immediately as a suspect but in this case common sense and decency SHOULD have come into play.

We had a case in PE a few years ago in PE a young girl was hit by a Taxi and rushed to hospital in a critical state, her father was informed and rushed to get there, on the way he was stopped by a speed cop. The father was frantic and tried to explain that his child was dying, but the officer refused to listen and even fired a warning shot. He detained the father whose daughter had died in the meantime.

Thats about all I can add to that...... that speed cop should be given the worlds biggest PK
 
I don't think "compassion" makes their vocab. b4 Xmas 2010, I stayed 3+hrs at a roadblock on 1 hr roads, downhill, holding brakes drained the battery, and the car overheated (10K damage), they converged 3 highvolume lanes to one stop/go, and when they were busy, all other cars had to wait. The SAPs checks my licence, and asks if I consumed alcohol, told him yes, but because I sat 3+hrs, I must be sober. they let me go. They have no clue about priorities and traffic management, does not matter where in SA.
