Core i7 4770 (non k) Troubles

Hey All!

I posted about this previously but I'll be damned if I can find the original post.

I keep getting this message when I boot sometimes:

It doesn't happen as frequently when I disable turbo-boost or use 'default bios' settings, however, it seems there must be a reason for it?!

Here are my specs:

Any idea what I can do to fix this issue?
I have already updated the bios, the motherboard is a few months old, the cpu hasn't been overclocked as it isn't a 'K' version and I wouldn't know how to do it anyways

Might be your cmos battery draining, thereby losing the config on mobo. Try replacing the battery.

Have you tampered with any of the pins on the mobo by any chance?

I remember clearing the bios once for a mobo via the pins and forgot to remove them...caused the bios to clear upon every reboot.

Otherwise its an early sign of mobo failure, best you take it back to where you got it from and let them test whether its the board or the CPU

Seems it is mobo troubles. Remind me not to buy Gigabyte again! Thanks so very much for everybodys help!

It's extremely rare for CPUs to go wonky, the next thing to verify is the ram, if that passes then you've either got a MB or PSU issue.

I guess, bent pins. Try different CPU. However the easiest way is to take it to Rectron and speak to technicians, these guys are helping establishing problems even the board is out of warranty. They just check whether motherboard was bought from Rectron, otherwise you will be charged for service.
