Firstly im new around here so please excuse me if im in the wrong section.
My corsa lite started pinging or pinking as some people describe it and i cant find the problem, stripped and rebuilt the engine, found evidence of pinging on the head and head gasket, but no reason for it.
Replaced MAF and crank sensor, checked timingbelt sprockets for wear but all are good condition.
I can only think of two reasons why it would ping, one is retarded time, which cannot be adjusted. Or running lean for which i cannot find a cause.
This problem started on a 70km trip.
Code scanner doesn't pick up any faults.
The car isnt fitted with a O2 sensor or a knock sensor
Any help or advice will be much appreciated
