...they do look remarkably like the eyes of Arthas the Lich King from underneath his helmet

In addition, the new rune, located just above the breaking ice, is that of a snowflake, which brings to mind the Frost tree of the Death Knights

For now, I'm saying that the new Death Knight imagery heralds something major about WoTLK coming out at the Invitational. Is it playable Death Knights before WoTLK? Maybe, but I'm not completely convinced.

In this overlay, you can see how Arthas' eyes match up perfectly with the eyes in the splash screen. It may be that it's the Lich King we're staring at after all.

in all fairness i can superimpose a picture of a budgie and make the eyes match up... or a pic of mugabe

I don't think that a snowflake is what the rune is meant to be. :rolleyes:

Personally I like this theory more.

Basically, each of the runes hint to a Blizzard game Diablo, Warcraft, Starcraft, WOW and The Lost Vikings.

Guess we'll have to wait till tomorrow. :)

Well in the end, it's pretty much known that the Death Knight [in wotlk] is based on a Rune System. This is in fact the "new" part of the whole class, ability to combine different runes to augment your char's spec/abilities.

They even mentioned there will be 6 runes that can be picked from/combined...So while everyone is drawing pentagrams, i won't be surprised if a 6th rune
appear in the final screen ?

Anyhow even the Ice art itself is same as the WotLk ice art being used [i.e. the Sword inside the Ice, held by Arthas] ...
 
You guys still think its a protoss dude?Check the new splash...Or WOTLK...because Im thinking diablo

I reckon it's Diablo 3. Don't those rune things around the ice remind you of going to the old Diablo 1 town in Diablo 2, Tristram? When you have to go through that portal thing?
 
12:13 Back to Morhaime. He's talking about event highlights today like seeing some pro tourney stuff, and how people can play Wrath and SC2. And he tells people to not miss the costume party, and talks up the concert tomorrow. Now he says "there's one more thing we need to do..."
