Long story but I'll keep it short

Sent about R7k (2 boxes ) of items to be delivered form Jhb to NW, door to door, eventually had to go collect it at the depot in Vryburg after weeks of non delivery, and they could only find one box.

Notified them and they said they'd investigate, pillar to post. Eventually turned out they gave it to a 3rd party last mile whole claims to have received one box, and TCGs system says they got two. After telling me they'd make contact after investigation, and subsequently ignoring my follow up emails, they now say it's over 2 years ago and to let it go...

Anyone have any advice on getting my won back.

That is the golden rule, if its more than two years ago, let it go...

Reality is that you would spend more money on legal fees and your time than what you have already lost..

What grinds me is that the only reason this has taken so long wa them playing delay tactics. Be patient while we investigate and then going AWOL.

You have the option for full insurance with The Courier Guy. They only cover max R1000, and the rest is your problem if your package goes missing. It's a matter of if you don't like their terms then don't use them unfortunately, or pay the 2% of declared value for full insurance.

Two years is a long time to wait for R7k...

So you waited for your parcels for two years with TCG and going to ask them now.... wow

TCG hates bad publicity and if you continue on social media you'll get your way. Every package is covered by Insurance - just push.

That's the thing - I've been following up every 2-3 months at times ignored or told they're trying to locate the box, they're investigating, I need to be patient blah blah. It was in one of my quarterly follow ups that they then reverted to it's been too long.

That's unacceptable.
