Edit: Guess I should have stated for local shipping, within the country, domestic only, door to door. Great I can't seem to edit the title no doubt because of "modern improvement" in the forum software.

I'm interested in having a battery shipped via courier but I'm not sure which are willing to handle batteries. Specifically larger batteries such as from 12V UPS to car sized etc.

I've checked loads of their sites which state no "dangerous" goods etc, some stating no "may become dangerous, inflammable or noxious" which you'd think would include batteries, yet that courier is used by a company selling new batteries.

In short their sites are useless for a definite answer and I don't want to resort to phoning or emailing them.

So if anyone knows which courriers are known to be willing to ship batteries please point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

You'll have to send by sea freight. You will not find any couriers that will bring in lithium batteries cheaper than you can buy them here. Even if you buy in bulk. I used to import smaller lithium batteries for electronics like cameras and it was rarely worthwhile but UPS would bring them in. DHL/Fedex/Aramex would not.

A 12V 100AH LifePO4 battery weighs about 13Kg. You can expect to pay at best R30K+ to bring in 10pcs by air.

I had a similar issue a while back.

Was told that only DHL courier batteries due to the fact that they have their own planes.

Got a quote from them but VERY expensive.

Thanks for the feedback guys, unfortunately I guess I should have stated I'm only looking to ship locally, within the country.

Send it via PAXI but be warned:

If any PEP Stores burn down within the next week, we will all know in which vicinity you reside!

Any courier will do it via road freight, just not on planes/overnight.

Thanks, I wasn't certain as I remember PUDO once stating no batteries, however I don't see them saying that's no longer accepted, they just list various "dangerous" things which by their wording would include batteries. Any idea if they would transport them?

Nobody on Amazon or Aliexpress wants to ship Li-ion batteries to SA...
