WHOOOSHing in Cape Town CBD.

Had one or two very short periods of poor speeds over the past 10 weeks, but otherwise I'm impressed

can anyone tell me when cell C will improve their signal in the strandfontein area,i would like to buy their 3g modem 2gig package when it improves

Welcome to MyBroadband, braaf! Please update your Location in your MyBroadband profile (click My Profile in the top right corner of the page).

Instead of waiting for Cell-C to improve coverage in your area, you could investigate installing your own antenna to boost the signal.
 
Coverage - Plettenberg Bay

I'm going to Plet for the holiday and would like to if the new fast data service of cellc has launched/work there yet. And if it does how is the coverage and speed.

Where can I find a coverage map for Cell C? I don't find anything on the site... or it's not showing anything in Safari...

I have a feeling my town won't have coverage...
 
Never mind, got it working... and as expected the nearest coverage is 80km away...

EDIT: Make that 350km away for HSDPA... lol... What a waste.

External antenna for improving signal in jeffreysbay

I would like to know what antenna one can use and get in south africa to improve my cell c 5 gig that i bought.I know coverage isn't great here and want to improve the little but I get.

I'm fed-up with my Cell-C internet

I'm posting from my BB on MTN from the exact spot where my laptop is with the Cell-C modem.

I get disconnected every few seconds. Sometimes when it connects I can't do anything on the internet. It doenst open any websites. When it works it is very fast though but it doesn't last long.

Can anyone from Cell-c please try to sort me out?

We established previously your signal strength wasn't very good, have you looked at an external antenna yet?
 
Coverage feedback in Tokai / Kirstenhof / Blue Route Mall (Cape Town)?

Hi all,

Can anyone using Cell C's internet in the Tokai / Kirstenhof / Blue Route Mall area in Cape Town please provide feedback regarding signal coverage?

Their coverage map seems to indicate that there isn't UMTS coverage :\

I'm looking to buy the prepaid promotion but don't want to cost myself!

I've just looked at the coverage map and you do fall into the 3G coverage area. I have a friend who lives in Steenberg estate using Cell C and he's very happy. There is a Cell C shop in Blue Route mall, so it's always worth having a chat to them as well to see what they say. By now they should have had some feedback from people who live nearby as to what coverage and speeds are like.
 
Hi guys, moving to Durban in January and thinking of getting the 21.6mbps package. Anyone using whooosh in the Musgrave/Overport area? Seems like the coverage map might just be suboptimal roundabouts where I'll be working, is that an issue? I'm planning on gaming as well as general browsing/downloading.
 
Coverage Query - Hermanus

can anyone tell me if the 21mbps is available in hermanus. i`m want to get the R1999 @ 5g per month deal. if not, what speed will i get. the speed must be 3g and above.
