CPE installation considerations

I don't know if this has been covered but what do I need to take into account selecting a position for the CPE in my home? Vumatel has confirmed an appointment for tomorrow and I want to make sure I position it correctly.

My wife works from home on a laptop but she moves around and doesn't really have a fixed office per say. And we want to stream via a tv box from our living room tv and our bedroom tv.

Any advice? I know walls can be a problem and I understand the higher the better?

In layman's terms, the CPE is really just a fibre to ethernet converter.

Have it installed near a powerpoint so you can power it and then run an ethernet cable to wherever you want the router.

I let them install it in the garage, out of site. Then ran a network cable from that CPE device to my router that's inside the house.

So if you don't want to run a long cable to wherever you are going to place your router let them install that device close to where you want your router....

I would imagine where it enters the house is not exactly by your own choosing? Isn't there some conduit in play?

The industry standard is to mount that unit in the living room/main TV room.
