Hello,

im curious which of the 2 below processors are better ?

its for my work system, i have the E6550 as a spare part and was wondering would it be better to use ?

Intel Core2 Duo - E6550

Intel Dual-Core - E5200

Intel Core2 Duo - E6550 is better at stock, the E5200 is better when overclocked. Overall they are very similar in performance at stock.

What is your motherboard's FSB frequency?

The E6550 has an FSB of 1333, so if your Motherboard doesn't go that high, you would be losing clock speed.

EDIT: All other things being equal and assuming your motherboard supports 1333MHz FSB, the E6550 has a slight edge. I would take Fonoi's word on OC'ing it.

yea the board supports 1333 and even a slight upgrade is fine, its a work PC im here till 8 bored out my mind. why not change cpu
