Hi
need help.

What is my real CPU temp? the one running at 60 deg in speedfan, and in hwmonitor under mb temps when i run prime, or 47 as in MSI control centre and core as i mark it in speedfan.

U will see i named the one in speedfan also CPU, cause as i thought thats the one for CPU as it went up high when i run prime.

Can a chip get 60 deg on mainboard? its the MSI 970A-G46 board with phenom II x 4 965BE overclocked with genie to 3.83 (stock 3.4)

Thx

Flame

PS: was thining getting liqued cooler due i dont want cpu to run at 60. but if thats not cpu temp, ill stick with air. have Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo -CPU Cooler on atm ( http://www.takealot.com/computers/computer-components/coolermaster-hyper-212-evo-cpu-cooler,10808036 )

So i'm not quite sure as I don't use either, I use Core Temp.
But I'd be quite surprised if your CPU was sitting at 48C under load at 3.8GHz. I know the CM 212 Hyper is good, but it's not that good. :)

What was your ambient temperature?

i just see core speeds on ur program. so i dont know what to trust now....

Ambient is the temperature in your surroundings, in this case your room.

Core temp should should show you for each core:
%load
Current temperature,
Min temperature,
Max temperature.

Take a screen shot of it after running prime for like 5 min.

Also make sure other temperature monitoring programs are closed.

speedfan must run, it control my fanspeed if temp go up...

Just looking at your screenie again, was HW monitor running during your previous prime or did you open it afterwards? It looks like you did a prime run or some other intensive task before you opened HW monitor?
I used speed fan once, and I think the 60C by the flame is the maximum temps your CPU reached.

My HW monitor and Core Temp show the same readings.

nope....was running it with prime to see if temps is the same. Why is the temp what is so high under the mb temps and not under cpu?

Speedfan looks wrong.

My X6 @ 3.9GHz hits a max of 50. It is very unlikely that an X4 running at a max of 1.41v on the cpu would reach 60, even with that cooler.

Core Temp ftw

core temp i have only show cores. non true cpu temp. :(

ok. but they low, 46-48 overclocked and underload. whats that high 60 deg one then?

Phenoms run cool, I used to get around 45°C under full load with a CM V6, up to around 53°C in summer.
As for that 60°C its from speedfan, I'd just ignore it. HWMonitor is right 99% of the time, and the temps its giving do look right according to my past experience

Interesting, never knew they ran that cool. Good news at least, OP push the OC to 4GHz :D

Archer. Whats that 60 deg at top ? under the voltages list?

thx. can that 60 be a temp on mb?
