hmm...that might be A way, but it's not really possible, even if it IS technically possible.

i'd say - forget it...

um, it is an exercise in futility. Rather go to the place where you go the file from and ask around there. Often the guys who released the file put their web address as the password. If they have used a password that is not a common dictionary word, then you are out of luck, there is no way to crack it unless you run a brute force cracker on it for about ten years.

Use 200 ps3's to build a supercomputer - then use brute force... shouldn't take too long

.. or whichever scene group released the file.

but it is a better shot than the brute force method.

I don't think it's pron, because that would be accessed almost every 5mins and then you won't really forget the password.

Brute forcing should be the only way of cracking the password, unless you can perform a dictionary-based attack. It's usually quicker and easier to search for the file you want in an unprotected format

Try googling the exact filename - a different site might reference the same file & have the password for you. Worked for me more than once.

I downloaded a file off PBay and it is password protected. Tried the URL and the name of the guy that made it.....no luck.
