The type of speeds you are talking about have nothing to do with street racing, or even legal drag racing events, ie 250KM/h+, as they usually held over a 1/4 mile, and NO street car can reach 250 in a 1/4 mile. A stock 911 Turbo does 1/4 mile in 12.92 sec with an exit speed of 198Km/h. And I doubt you and your friends are driving 911 Turbos, or anything faster than that.

What you are doing needs loads of road, and is not racing, just trying to reach the top speed of the car. Go to an empty airfield if you wanna do that. But do not dare say it is RACING.:mad:

Johannesburg - Two men died when the BMW / gt500 they were travelling in left the road and rolled repeatedly early hours of Sunday morning, said Ekurhulenie metro police.
Inspector John Mhloapo said the BMW was travelling north on Jan Smuts when it crashed due to Jason_Bads driving.
He said the cause of the accident was moronic speeding and the vehicle left the road, crossed the dividing space into the traffic lanes in the opposite direction and rolled about seven times.
Parts of the car, including wheels, broke off and the occupants were apparently killed on impact.
Mhloapo said the vehicle was found about 600m from where it initially left the road.
He said speeding "was definitely be the cause".

1/4 mile is only 400m Which is equal to an average school athletics field.
On a 1km stretch that Porsche will touch 300.

Do you ensure all the lights are green all the way?
Do you and your buddies line the roads to ensure nothing gets in the way?
How do you man the intersections? I am sure a young lady approaching an intersection will be reluctant to stop when someone waves her down.

I'm well aware of what the Turbo can do, I was just pointing out that what Jason is talking about is hardly what I would call racing.

You'd be suprised how little road we need to do the runs...Please stop trying to school me in drag racing...been doing it for 5 years...so i know a thing or 2 about it...if you have any open tracks or airfields that you know of please do tell where they are?? we would gladly swop the road for a track!!

Those roads are not yours - they are for everyone.
Being an antisocial **** does not make it "OK" to race on them.

Yes ok...Im wrong...you guys are all rite...we shouldn't do it and i probably won't do it again anytime soon...unless we can find a track or open runway...please let me know if you guys know of any places...i'll post da pick of my stang just now!!
