Lol, it's a learning curve, trust me GET FAMILIAR with the console CLI commands. You're hard work is mostly done there.. trust me

Learn on either Ubuntu server or CentOS.
With CentOS you will know RHEL.
RHEL, CentOS and Ubuntu server pretty much has the majority of server covered.
Follow tutorials on www.howtoforge.com if you want to learn on the fly.
 
Formatted my old laptop and installed ubuntu on it busy running through updates and learning bash scripting at the same time.
