Really good game last night. Just couldn't get up and go to bed, haha. West Indies were definitely on course but I was quite disappointed in Shimron Hetmyer. He blasts Mark Wood for six first ball and then tries it again and gets out. When you're chasing such a huge score and have a really good foundation, you show some circumspection. Apparently that's the just way he plays and I can only assume that the selectors and the captain have given him license to do so.

Career ODI strike-rate of 109.76, so yeah, looks like he is just going to hit anything he thinks he can.

He's 22 though, so still time to mature and play to the situation he finds himself in.

Can't judge it based on one under 19 side...There are still loads of talented kids coming through. Go and have a closer look at franchise level and you will see them.

Loads of kids fall away after under 19 level.

Even if you look at our winning under 19 side only markram, rabada and phelukwayo have made it to the national level so far. Only fortuin, makhanya, smith, valli and corbin bosch have made it to franchise level.

So out our best ever under 19 group only 55% have made any impact.

Its similar across all squads that played that year, not unique to SA. The step from under 19 to franchise and then international cricket is big.

Honestly dont know how this guy got to open the batting. Seems like they want to force the development for a opener just for the sake of transformation. 16 runs in 4 innings with a strike rate of 16, and a high score of 13.

You would think that it is an easy total to chase down. Let's hope not.
