I agree somewhat, Steve S is one of the best when it comes too batting.
The only problem I have with him... when things aren’t going his way and he is not making centuries after centuries, he has no problem subscribing too cheating.
 
A rare failure for Smith. That will hurt his average this series... :whistling:

While I can't agree that Lara was THE best test batsman, I will agree that he was ONE OF the best test batsman. Mind you, as a fellow lefty, I loved watching him bat. If I could've been a mix of lefties, it would have been Lara, Gilchrist and Gary Kirsten. Lara for his flamboyancy and genius, Gilchrist for his savagery and Kirsten for his almost unrivaled powers of concentration and ability to bat long.

I think he has come back from his time out of the game as far more resolute, focused batsman. He grinds the opposition into frustration and then seems to kick on. He seems a little more quirky and that late flourish after he has let the ball go, well that just tickles me.

As for Warner. Yikes. Broad just has him hook, line and sinker! It is as if Warner is psyched out. He needs a miracle or a long sabbatical.

Day 5 set up for a great contest. Stokes to the rescue again, maybe.
