What's up with the fact that if the ashes are a tie the current holder retains the ashes. That doesn't make any sense. If you draw then one wasn't better than the other. The trophy should not go to anyone.

That's just the way it works. Like The Ryder Cup in golf. It makes perfect sense

Not comparable...Smith was guilty of bad captaincy in not stopping warner, he was not guilty of cheating. Hansie was actively cheating...

He was punished because as captain he is responsible for the team. Also trying to cover it up was a terrible idea.

When did Smith actively cheat...

Smith is looking likely to end as the second highest averaging batsmen in test history. Guy is a genius. One moment of bad judgement when dealing with idiots like warner won't change that.

Smith also admitted that he knew of the plan in advance of Bancroft's actions. Smith said that the plan was made during the lunch break by the "leadership group", which he did not name. Smith said it was a "big mistake", and when questioned by the media, said that he would not be standing down as captain of the team.

Sounds like cheating to me.. but yeah, no questioning the mans cricketing pedigree.
 
Potato potatoe. He was captain and aware and participating de facto.

He is a cheater.

He is also the best batsman of our generation.
