Cricket: International Discussion Thread

Miserable batting performance by the Aussies; tidy leady for the Poms.

Meanwhile, in Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh are in a titanic struggle. Could go either way from here...

Wade getting cautioned by the umpires for his incessant chirping. He’s a fcking p rick... strongest part of his game is his sledging. I swear that’s why he’s picked.

And then he has the nerve to act like a brat right in the face of the ump

Never liked him, never will. His place in the side is very questionable.

Yes, I know he has domestic runs and all that. But he has one score in this series and done little else to deserve being there. He is a walking wicket when comes out to bat. I would rather have two Tim Payne's than five of Wade.

And he's got such a poor attitude! For a team that's 'committed' to cleaning up their act, I don't understand why they pick him...

cnuts the lot of them.

After watching Denly smash Lyon down the ground for another boundary, Smith said: ‘It’s an easy game when there’s no pressure on, eh?’ Denly endured a slow start to the series at No. 4, failing to pass 30 in his first five innings, before scoring two fifties in three innings, one of which helped England level the series at Headingley. Smith, meanwhile, has enjoyed one of the best series of all time, scoring over 700 runs in six innings to help Australia retain the urn.

Denly and Burns’ opening stand of 54 was ended when the latter was caught behind off the bowling of Lyon. Root was the next man in and immediately received a volley of abuse from Wade. While the stump microphones did not pick up Wade’s outburst, Root was heard responding: ‘You can’t have it all your own way.’ With Wade in no mood to back down, the on-field umpires intervened and were seen talking to the Australia batsman and calming him down during the drinks break.

Afghanistan with a really top score of 197/5 in their T20 against Zimbabwe. Doubt they'll get close.

True, just like it’s is easy to get a ball to swing with sandpaper
