Not sure who would be happier with that day. I mean, England scoring nearly 400 on day 1 is the pretty impressive, but an early declaration? Especially an unsuccessful one in terms of taking Australian wickets.

Australia getting through that evening session without losing a wicket will be most pleasing to them. This pitch looks to be a good batting deck, so unless England strike early tomorrow, this early declaration could prove to be a mistake.

Agree. My prediction ... AUS 523 all out on day 3 tea.
 
England could've continued batting and only add a few more runs with tail enders or take the bold step, declare and go on the attack.
Looks like it paid off - Aus clearly rattled.
 
I’m not sure what’s slower, Aus run rate or Lewis H in an average car.
 
Asked for a flat pitch so they could bazball...not gone so well with the ball. Might still work out if the pitch misbehaves on day 5.

Wonder what's going through the bowling units heads when they turn up at a home test and find a road to bowl on.

Yes. Don't quite agree with the commentary. With Ali's finger I'd put the Aussies just a tad ahead.

What's with the England rapper/gangster thing anyway?
