Game, set and match to Bangladesh:

Handshakes all around, as Bangladesh and their fans take in a historic series win against Pakistan. It's a first-ever clean sweep at home against these opponents, and one that was a consummate team performance - especially from being 116 for 6 in the first innings.

Bangladesh came out this morning needing three wickets, but for most of the first hour things really weren't going according to plan. Both Rizwan and Sajid were scoring freely, and the target was steadily becoming shorter. But Shanto kept smartly rotating his options in the faith that one of them would deliver the breakthrough, and in the end it was Taijul that came to the fore - as he so often does.

Good win for Sri Lanka in Jamaica. The West Indies just not good enough.

England v New Zealand.

Who is winning the first test?

NZL absolutely trashed Ireland a week ago or so they look pretty good.

Dark day for England (and not just the fact that bad light has stopped play). England 118/8 after being inserted by New Zealand. Harry Brook got to 56 and then got out. He was the only one to provide any resistance, although it seems he lived a charmed life, being gifted a few chances.

Remains to be seen if they get back on the field. It's looking pretty gloomy.

New Zealand said hold my beer :cautious:

What a dismal showing at Lords. Not just England. Even NZ.

Considering the New Years test is sold out for all the days, hope okes even get to see day 4 and 5.

This pitch is a minefield. You leave the ball it swings in and hit the stumps. Every ball something happens.

Their esteemed leader setting the example, lol :)

Stokes said during his press conference after England's win that he was looking forward to sharing "a proper beer with the boys" in the dressing room after his team had wrapped up a much-needed win.

I guess one proper beer was not enough.

Seems he followed ducket's aus tour example and forgot the way to the dressing room and ended up at the night club.

They are in it now. The press will be out for blood after the harry brook nightclub coverup.

LORD’S AND GADDAFI STADIUM PITCHES RATED AS ‘UNSATISFACTORY’ [ICC]

Media release
The pitches used for the first Test between England and New Zealand at Lord’s in London and for the third ODI between Pakistan and Australia at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore have been rated as “Unsatisfactory” and the venues have received one demerit point each under the ICC Pitch and Outfield Monitoring Process.

Match Referees Andy Pycroft (Lord’s) and Graeme La Brooy (Gaddafi Stadium) submitted their reports expressing concerns of the match officials and the captains.

Mr. Andy Pycroft said about the Lord’s pitch: “There was plenty of excessive seam movement throughout the Test and the ball also kept extremely low on several occasions. The bounce was variable throughout as 16 wickets fell on the first day and 17 on the second. There was simply an over-balance in favour of ball against bat caused by the pitch.”

Mr. Graeme La Brooy said about the Gaddafi Stadium pitch: The pitch was slow and low and made scoring runs very difficult. It did not suit a One Day International game as batters had to spend more time to settle in. It helped spin very early in the match and continued the same way throughout.”

The reports have been forwarded to the England and Wales Cricket Board and the Pakistan Cricket Board, respectively, and they have 14 days to appeal against the sanction.

There are no previous demerit points for either venue.
