India lost the plot.
I think they are 50 runs short.

Like SA the other night, India never accelerated.
 
Ab form today with hash. We have every chance this world cup.Miller and De kock wlso come off. Steyn and Tahir and co keep it decent surely the team to beat ?

And when it comes to knock out games we will of course bowl first to ensure the pressure forces a batting collapse. Sigh.

They just put bigger targets on their backs.
Amla is very difficult to work out and plan to get him out, he normally gets himself out.
AB has a few batting flaws, if the other teams do their homework they can get him out.

Its just a poor Windies team, hurting from their internal politics, I wouldnt use it as any level to grade them on.

6.34 pm The ever-important 48th over has proven to tell the tale here at Nelson as Ronchi and Vettori seal a four-wicket victory for New Zealand to take a 2-1 series lead. Sri Lanka's 270-odd didn't prove to be quite the handful they were hoping, and they were definitely arguably 30-40 runs short at the interval. Kane Williamson's 103 undoubtedly anchored the chase, while Anderson's 47 and Elliott's 44 ensured they were able to see the mission out.

Kane Williamson, Man of the Match: Had a few days off which was nice. Just relaxed and caught up with friends and family. Just wanted the shoulder to heal. It was nice to get off to a reasonable start. It is always nice to bat with other blokes who are scoring freely. It was great initially with Grant, before Corey took over. To finish it off the way we did with Ronchi was just superb. I am still very much working on my bowling, and am pretty happy with how it is progressing. I don't want to rush it and want to keep learning to bowl more and more.

Brendon McCullum, New Zealand captain: Really good effort from the bowlers to give us a score under par. Kane showed how experienced he is and how he can formulate a gameplan. Also finished off well by Corey and Ronchi. Probably a little bit more bounce here on the Oval. Pace was certainly there in comparison to last year. Really good cricket wicket and crowd. We don't know yet about Milne (injured rib cage). The beauty of this team is that someone else will step up in case anything goes wrong. They expect us to fight hard and I will try to lead by example. Elliott had a tough time of late, but he showed strength of character and was one of the assets the selectors were keen to see. He is a great team man, and is a classy batsman at club level, and the partnership he formed with Kane was crucial to getting us into this. Kane has been wonderful and its great to see him work his magic.

Angelo Mathews, Sri Lanka captain: After the start we got, I thought the lower order batted poorly. I thought Dilshan, Sangakkara and Mahela batted beautifully. It was a very good wicket, didn't turn as much or slow up, but it was a good batting track. The spinners have been bowling brilliantly, especially on that wicket. They came on to bowl pretty well. We just couldn't take wickets and strike regularly.
 
England have comprehensively thrashed India. The BCCI will not take kindly to this. Expect funding to the ECB to dry up to a trickle :p

6.54 pm England would be chuffed with this! This was a one-sided affair, with the match finishing within 70 overs.. All set up by a fantastic bowling performance from Steven Finn, who completed his five-for, and a rousing comeback from James Anderson. The two combined to pick up nine India wickets, using the Gabba bounce to devastating effect. Once they had bowled out India for a below-par 153, it was only a matter of time. Ian Bell and James Taylor, who were both out in the first over against Australia, then used the opportunity to get back into form and crossed the line without any hiccup.

Bell was closing in on his 5000 ODI runs, but he will have to wait for the next match. It's England's largest win against India in terms of balls remaining. The huge win has given them a much-needed bonus point. India, on the other hand, will need to win both their games and keep an eye on the result of the Aus-Eng game. India's wait for a win in Southern Hemisphere, starting from SA last year, goes on...
