How to tell you're **** at playing the short ball....India would rather bowl their seamer at you than their spinners :p

What happened to Broad...he used to be decent with the bat.

Done and dusted - England go down 4-0.

10 wickets to Jadeja in the match plus a triple and an almost double...big performances from the Indians.

England have lost 8 tests this year - equalling their worse ever.

they've also lost 2 matches on the bounce having scored 400+ in the first innings - to put this in perspective, in the history of test cricket, this feat has only been achieved twice before

what a shambles - they simply cannot play on subcontinent pitches :D

I would normally be taking joy in England's misery, but the fact that it's against India makes it bittersweet for me.

Speaking of which, why is India even playing home matches at this time of year? This is the southern hemisphere season...

I spare a thought for my friend CHURCHILL. Sadly, this result was always a likely outcome. That many overs in the field, fighting the demons in your head and a 5th day pitch...

On the upside, Ray Jennings' lad top scored in the collapse :)

Cape Town - The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced its Test Team of the Year for 2016.

Proteas fast bowler Dale Steyn is the sole South African on the prestigious annual list.

This is the eighth time in nine years that Steyn has been selected for the best XI Test squad.

Steyn has played 85 Tests for the Proteas and has taken 417 wickets at an average of 22.30.

The 33-year-old needs four Test wickets to reach 421 and tie former skipper Shaun Pollock as the leading South African wicket-taker in the Test arena.

Former Test stalwarts Rahul Dravid, Gary Kirsten and Kumar Sangakkara selected the sides based on players’ performances in the period from September 14, 2015 to September 20, 2016.

England’s Alastair Cook has been named as captain of the ICC Test Team of the Year for the third time.

The ICC Test squad includes four Englishmen, three Australians, and a player each from New Zealand, India, Sri Lanka and South Africa.

Joe Root, David Warner and Kane Williamson have been chosen for the third successive year.

ICC Test Team of the Year for 2016 (in batting order) is:

1. David Warner (Australia)

2. Alastair Cook (England - captain)

5. Adam Voges (Australia)

6. Jonny Bairstow (England - wicketkeeper)

7. Ben Stokes (England)

8. Ravichandran Ashwin (India)

Cape Town - Three South Africans have been included in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) ODI Team of the Year announced on Thursday.

De Villiers has been selected for the sixth time since 2010, while Kagiso Rabada, 21, and Quinton de Kock, 24, make their ICC team debuts.

This is Tahir's second appearance on the list.

It has been a case of third time lucky for India's Virat Kohli who has been named as captain of the ICC ODI Team of the Year.

In addition to the three Proteas stars, the team also includes three Australians and Indians, and one each from England and the West Indies.

Australians Mitchell Starc and David Warner are the only two players to have been selected in both the Test and ODI sides in 2016.

England just got their asses handed to them and they make Cook the captain.
Another surprise entry is Voges who will unlikely play test cricket again.

Kholi should be captain.

England tour of India, Tour Match: India A v England XI at Mumbai (BS), Jan 12, 2017

http://www.espncricinfo.com/india-v-england-2016-17/engine/match/1075473.html

England XI 282 (48.5 ov)
India A 283/4 (39.4 ov)
India A won by 6 wickets (with 62 balls remaining)

That must have been quite a KO for the Poms. They only got to 282 because of a bit cameo in last wicket partnership. India A do it with 62 balls to spare. Ouch!
