In India, in the meantime, England are being progressively put to slaughter.

India 238/3 (38.1 ov)
England
England won the toss and elected to field

Current partnership 219 runs, 33.4 overs, RR: 6.50 (Dhoni 82, Yuvraj Singh 131)

I never know what's a good score in Indian conditions - almost anything is chaseable...

Good point. As it stands, this could be a road. But the chase will be a tall order.

Yuvraj also gusts hot and cold. Today it's blisteringly hot.

Stokes to Yuvraj Singh, SIX, this is vintage Yuvraj. He is back with his career-best score in ODIs. Slower length ball outside off, Yuvraj lofts it with a straight bat over long-on. Flat hit for a six

He's now 145* off 119 ... 21 x 4s, 3 x 6s

Woakes has 3/39 off 8 overs. The rest have been handled with disdain! :p

I'll bet England thought that once they saw the back of Kohli, it was job done.

Aye! to that ^

In the meantime, it is Woakes who man-alone (it seems) is getting it done:

Woakes to Yuvraj Singh, OUT, full and outside off, Yuvraj looks to drive it down the ground. He can only nick it behind to the keeper. It was in the slot, but Yuvraj's execution was off for a change. End of a crackling innings

Yuvraj Singh c †Buttler b Woakes 150 (127b 21x4 3x6) SR: 118.11
Dhoni 104* off 110:

Woakes to Dhoni, 1 run, dug in short and outside off, Dhoni is not in control of the hook. Skies it in the air but to the right of Hales at deep square leg. Tenth ODI hundred for Dhoni, and his first since stepping down as captain

Dead ball:

full-toss on middle, slower full-toss in fact, Dhoni winds up again. This is pinged over deep square leg for six. No, the ball was in contact with the spider-cam, and it's dead ball

followed by:

Woakes to Dhoni, SIX, whoa! full and outside off, Dhoni sizes it up and bludgeons it a long way over long-on. That's masssssive! "That hit the top-most stand at the long-on boundary," says Vishal from the ground. He moves to 99

So no harm done then? :)

England need 382 to keep the series alive. Chris Woakes bowled an impressive first spell - 5-3-14-3 - and reduced India to 25 for 3 inside five overs. Out come Yuvraj and Dhoni to the rescue like the good ol' days. The rescue operation then turned into a blitz with England struggling to get their lengths right in the death overs. I'm off to ice my fingers. Gnasher will be back with you for the start of the chase.

Yuvraj, the man of the moment: Probably, one of my best innings. The last time I got a hundred was the 2011 World Cup. I am very happy with the innings. We were trying to get a partnership. I just wanted to play down the ground and not take much risk. I have been hitting the ball well in the whole domestic season. I had a word with Sanjay Bangar, I told him the way I am hitting the ball I will go big. With the five fielder rule, mid-on, mid-off is up, the wicket was not [helpful] for the seamers after the first 10 overs. Dhoni has been a sensational captain for India. When Mahi is not captaining, he will bat freely. Hopefully, if we take early wickets we can win the game.

Dhoni finished with 134 off 122.

India 381/6 (50.0 ov) RR 7.62

Dhoni just tore this bowling line up apart at the end - magnificent hitting.

This is why I hate the spider cam. It has a direct influence on the game. What if he went out next ball instead? 6 runs less, and they lose on the last ball. Nobody would get out of that stadium alive.

India scored 120 runs in the last 10 overs. That's how you do it, Pakistan.

This chase is on. Can England keep up their pace against the lack of pace. Jadeja has been the most economical bowler for India: conceding only 18 runs in four overs. No signs of Ashwin yet.

India 381/6 (50.0 ov)
England 119/1 (18.2 ov)
England require another 263 runs with 9 wickets and 31.4 overs remaining

England RR 6.48 RRR 8.31

Still achievable. The question is whether they can hold their nerves, up the BMT and get 120 in the final 10 overs (Pakistan :p).... :D

England 366/8

India win by 15 runs.

England got a lot closer than I expected them to. Pity that they couldn't take this game to keep the series alive.

WTF did the brisbane heat do there?

seriously.
after 5 overs the run rate was 16.80

then perera happened.
and they end up with a mix up on the last possible ball.
no mix up and its super over.
run out means the renegades win.

what a freaking game.

game of the BBL so far for me.
