England tour of India, 1st T20I: India v England at Kanpur, Jan 26, 2017

http://www.espncricinfo.com/india-v-england-2016-17/engine/match/1034825.html

England win the toss and bowl, Tymal Mills, Joe Root, Chris Jordan and Adil Rashid come in. "Looks like a batting track," says Eoin Morgan, who wants to chase a target. "I would have bowled first, to be honest, considering the dew factor," adds Kohli. "But as he said, it's a good surface, hopefully we can get enough runs on the board." Kohli refuses to confirm where he'll bat but does reveal Parvez Rasool will debut, Yuzvendra Chahal included ahead of Amit Mishra.

India 1 KL Rahul, 2 Virat Kohli (capt), 3 Suresh Raina, 4 Yuvraj Singh, 5 MS Dhoni (wk), 6 Manish Pandey, 7 Hardik Pandya, 8 Parvez Rasool, 9 Yuzvendra Chahal, 10 Ashish Nehra, 11 Jasprit Bumrah

England 1 Sam Billings, 2 Jason Roy, 3 Joe Root, 4 Eoin Morgan (capt), 5 Jos Buttler (wk), 6 Ben Stokes, 7 Moeen Ali, 8 Liam Plunkett, 9 Chris Jordan, 10 Tymal Mills, 11 Adil Rashid

Pakistan have all but coughed up their chase... not that I gave them a sniff. Hit and giggle in PJ between India and England is up.

Ashish Nehra!? They roll him out behind a zimmer frame?! Seems like he's been around since people were still black and white and moved really quickly.

I wanted to balance the teams better.
so I took the top 10 bowlers, batsmen and allroudners in ODI
and assigned team to two teams.
team 1 has un-even batsmen, even bowlers, and un-even all rounders
team 2 has even batsmen, un-even bowlers, and even all rounders.

each team has 15 players, 5 bat, 5 bowl and 5 allrounder.
using these two list, act like you are a selector, and you need to pick the playing 11.

this is what the teams look like.
team 1:
A.B. de Villiers
D.A. Warner
K.S. Williamson
J.E. Root
R.G. Sharma
Imran Tahir
M.A. Starc
Shakib Al Hasan
K. Rabada
J.R. Hazlewood
Shakib Al Hasan
Mohammad Nabid
M.R. Marsh
Moeen Ali
B.A. Stokes

Team 2:
A.D. Mathews
J.P. Faulkner
J.O. Holder
R.A. Jadeja
G.J. Maxwell
T.A. Boult
S.P. Narine
A.U. Rashid
M.J. Henry
A.R. Patel
V. Kohli
Q. de Kock
H.M. Amla
M.J. Guptill
S.P.D. Smith

Mohammad Nabi x2,

interesting.
number 10 bowler and number 3 all rounder.
but he is fantastic though. so team two has 14 men instead of 15
if you really want a 15th J.R. Hazlewood is tied as a bowler. I am going to edit my post and replace him there.

Tough call to leave some okes out. Those are my teams.

I went with Sharma in the Team 1 as there's no recognised keeper and I think he's done it in the past. Plus there's the small matter of 230-odd at the top of the order a year or two ago. al-Hasan, Marsh, Stokes and Ali provide some middle order clout at the back end of the innings while the pace of Rabada and Starc as well the guile of Tahir should keep Team 2 under control.

Team 2 is just class personified. de Kock, Amla, Kohli combined with the destruction that Guptill and Maxwell will wreak is enough to make the aforementioned Team 1 bowling combo be a bit worried. I've gone with the pace of Henry to compliment the nagging lines of Faulker, Holder and Matthews. Lastly, Narine will keep the left hander laden Team 1 honest.

Let battle commence! :)

Erm, forgot de Villiers can keep. Oh well, he's already captain so let Sharma keep the job.

side note, your team 1 has Hazelwood (due to the double Nabi)
and Steyn as a replacement for Hasam who is also both a top all rounder and a top bowler.

Are these teams for tests?

In a test team he'd be the first I'd pick, but in the shorter formats he'd be nowhere near my top 24.

EDIT: OK, he may be near, actually.

its ODI rankings.
and Both Hasan and NAbi are still picakble, but because they fall under the Allrounder slots, I replaced them in the bowler section.
tied for number 10 wiht Nabi is Hazelwood.
and sitting at number 11 in ODI rankins is our very own Dale Steyn.

remember, this is the ODI rankings stats. so you are free to leave Steyn out. like I would

Oh, I thought we were talking about Tahir.:p Ok, picking Steyn is not so cut and dried anymore...

Oh yeah, Tahir is magnificent in the short format. :)

Steyn in the short formats has been pretty bad for the last few years. Maybe 6 years ago I would have picked him.

For tests he'd still be my first bowling pick.
