Cricket: International Discussion Thread

I doubt very much they tried to chase it down.

Agreed, the only dismissal to an attacking "stroke" was Roy...the rest just got bowled out.

The English bowling in the second innings is looking pretty terrible right now.

I suspect he won't outwardly show it, but I'm sure Steve Smith will take a lot of satisfaction for his MotM performance (I'd be gobsmacked if he doesn't get it). Let's hope the English crowds, those that have remained, accord him the necessary respect when he receives it.

GG. 251 run victory. Talk about coming back down to earth with a bump for England! I reckon few people, myself included, gave Australia a chance in this series.

After that first day where England had the Aussies in quite some trouble, I never thought they will win by 251 runs

Start the dismantling. Bring in the bulldozer. To put how bad this hammering has been into context, all of England's eleven batsmen put together could only manage four runs more than what Steven Smith scored by himself.

Yoh

Actually, take out the extras (10) and they scored 6 runs LESS than what SS managed.

Biggest wins after conceding a 1st innings lead of 90+

251 Aus v Eng Edgbaston 2019 (Lead: 90) *
233 SA v Aus Jo'burg 1966/67 (126)
197 Aus v SL Galle 2003/04 (161)
193 NZ v SL Wellington 2014/15 (135)

A big congrats to Steve Smith he really out played England by a country mile, oh yes and a tip of the hat for Australia in their participation.

I feel like you could put the TV on for the 2029 Ashes and Peter Siddle would still be bowling :D

The guy probably looked like an old timer on debut...the Riaan Cruywagen of cricket.

Apparently the dude has been a vegan for a long time now.

Hopefully for you mybb lads, your sand paper hero 3m Steve mate can continue scoring 142 and 144 runs for the rest of the series....

Myself, I reckon he is done, used up all the luck. Then again I could be very very wrong.
