Cricket: International Discussion Thread

England have been rolled over for 167. NZ are 131/0 at stumps of day2.

:D

the only saving grace for the English is the weather forecast. Rain predicted for days 3&4.

If I was NZ, as soon as I have a 110 run lead I would declare.

I would declare at 150-200. This is new Zealand after all. They could get skittled cheaply and look like morons.

True :( I am just hoping for more daring test cricket. NZ's chances of winning this test with another 2 days of bad weather basically makes it 0 :(

I want to see the poms lose damnit :p

Yeah, definitely get a 150-odd lead and then take your chances on rolling the Poms again. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain from getting one over the Poms.

235 ahead, I would declare overnight and have a go at England

167.1 Kulasekara to Mushfiqur Rahim, 1 run, He has done it, with a dab through cover off the back foot, Mushfiqur Rehman becomes the first Bangladesh cricketer to get to the double-century mark in Test cricket. He has been brilliant throughout this innings - played it in the shadow of Ashraful's innings, but he never appeared flustered or hurried. An effortless, chanceless, determined innings by El Capitano. Well played Mush. His has been an absolutely top innings. What a role model!

167.3 Kulasekara to Mushfiqur Rahim, OUT, fuller length delivery on the middle and it comes in a touch, the batsman was a little late to get his front foot out of the way and gets hit on the pads right in front.. A loss in concentration? Doesn't matter, Mush has played a brilliant innings and he gets a pat on his back from all SL players too..Well played Mush

Mushfiqur Rahim lbw b Kulasekara 200 (321b 22x4 1x6) SR: 62.30

Well played lad!

Day 4 - Session 3

Sri Lanka 570/4d & 1/0 (0.3 ov)
Bangladesh 638

Sri Lanka trail by 67 runs with 10 wickets remaining

Seems to be heading for a draw unless one of the teams provides an abyssal collapse.

4.6 Shahadat Hossain to Karunaratne, OUT, caught at fine-leg! A roar from Shahadat as he surprises the batsman with a quick short one. Dimuth was in all sorts of tangle, he wasn't expecting such a delivery, the ball takes a top-edge as he goes for a hook-shot. Bangladeshi hearts would have been in their mouths as the fielder was Abul Hasan, but he takes it this time.. First strike

FDM Karunaratne c Abul Hasan b Shahadat Hossain 3 (16b 0x4 0x6) SR: 18.75

A little bit of spice to the last session of day 4. Any odds on a Bangladeshi win?

Reasons for dropping a test cricketer: 1. Texting a South African, 2. Not texting a South African

:D

Is it safe to assume Mr. Arthur will be out of the job after this tour?

Assuming that they do not turn the tour around, yes, he'll be exceptionally close to packing his bags. A relative failure against South Africa and now India will look dreadful on his CV.

He was always a nobody.

Average provincial player..... just how the fsck he got into coaching i will never fathom.
