CRICKET: SA v India

Ok, hope you guys have my millers chillin', 'cos today is 600 day :)
 
600 will depend on the first hour of play today. Apparently the 3rd day is the best day for batting so SA must take advantage of that and gain a big lead. I'll be ready to send you the Millers soon ;)
 
hmmm omac. if anything i would say this is the best Indian team in history.... definately not the worst. Remember that when SA went over to india last year they lost the test series.They are formidable at home. even australia lose to them most of the time (last series they won, but they hadnt before then for a long time).. They drew against australia in 2003 IN australia.When has SA ever managed to do that? whenever we go there we lose and come back with our tail between our legs. We cant even beat aus at home. we get thrashed.

They just have a really poor touring record to sa. weve crushed them every time. Just like we've crushed every team except aus (which is y s africans hate them so much) .. So i think this team is decent. With yuvraj singh and an inform sehwag, they have a VERY good batting line up. And dont forget irfan pathan was the icc newcomer of the year or something in 2004/2005. Hes gone off the boil hopelessly and he gave them an allround option. I think they may be a handful at the wc this year.... dont count them out...

Ok, ok. Maybe not the worst, but they're certainly in a very, very deep slump. We should be beating them in our sleep!

Also, with smith at the helm I'll always find fault. :D ;)

I hope Jonty is right about the 600 today. It'll mean we're batting at a decent pace. Any team that can make big runs a 4 to 4.5 per over must win almost all the time. Also we don't want to have to get too many in our second innings.

Nice to see Amla getting runs. I think it was said in this thread yesterday, "anyone can get runs on this pitch" so at least this may give him another chance.

And (I can't resist) at last the capt is making a contribution! :D
 
hrm.. I wonder if they pull off that many runs in a day.
 
getting another 350 runs today is enough, scoring at 4 an over, and having a few overs to bowl at India, maybe a wicket or two if lucky, then bowl them out tomorrow...
 
Ball is turning a lot today...Kumble bowled a good first over...hope it doesnt trouble SA too much.
 
and again i dont mean to be negative people :D ...
but what happens when sa reach around 250 and kumble starts bowling around the wicket to right handers? it will be really tough to go at 4 an over... really tough.. Tendulkar can do the same, but hes a little wayward so i doubt he would be bowling too much when india are trying to defend

Well, I'm pinning my hopes on Jonty's prediction. I do think it's the only hope of beating the draw! But yeah! It will be tough.

Fortunately still on leave. Unfortunately so are the kids, so I manage to get half hour glimpses every now and again.
 
Kumble's gonna get a wicket soon. One ball bounced up and hits Smith's gloves. Totally surprised. then next ball doesnt even bounce...

for 94, not bad smithy, at least he's starting to look a little better
