Ntini gets Bell! :D

Great start, hope they collapse worse than we did. This might just turn out to be a great day!

Why can't we have a GOOD spinner? We got stuck with paul adams, harris, ontong and duminey :(:(

for historical reasons. We have just always been more focused on pace. If you go back through the years there have never been much to talk about regarding SA spinners.

I would give Morkel and Nel the opening spell...

Ntini does not move the ball thus he is wasting the current conditions imo.....and as I post this Ntini will 10-1 take a wicket  :p

Ntini to Bell, OUT, First blood for South Africa early this morning! Hits a good length outside off, the ball curves in from wide of the crease, Bell prods forward to defend but he fails to get his bat behind the line, the outside edge is taken by Smith at first slip, he dives to his right and takes it barely inches off the ground
IR Bell c Smith b Ntini 24 (41b 3x4 0x6) SR: 58.53

ROFL :D

yes yes, I can promise you "they" know that.

There has been some plans. In junior cricket for instance, they have rules regarding teams playing spinners. Last year each team had to field 2 spin bowlers.

I'm pretty happy with an all pace attack. SA cricket has been served well over the years by fast men. Have we ever been handicapped due to the absents of a world class spinner?

I think the problem is that we don't have any real spin icons for kids to look up to. When I was in school I just wanted to be the next Donald, Ntini, Pollock, etc! So you could say it is not "cool" be a spinner.

mickey mouse was to blame for that

we have a better record in those countries than OZ does...

Spin friendly grounds in Aus :(
Are there any?

I think the biggest handicap of not having world class spinners is our batsman don't get to face them in the nets with the net result we don't play spin well in tests/ODI's...

Yes there are

Two other venues, Adelaide and Sydney, are traditionally considered to be more favourable to spinners.

please explain your thoughts on that one?

Not that agree or disagree either way.
Team arrived under cooked. They were naive to the conditions and mentally weren't focused for the Bangladesh match, aggressive approach to the OZ semi final was tactically naive, lost also to NZ, OZ twice Bangladesh etc Poor cup IMO and due to lack of preparation. Me blames the coach for that...

Busy building my legacy, when I'm done lots of people will wanna be like me. :p

As for Cricket, I lost the taste for it in high school. But then again losing against Grey all the time can do that.

Lol, also did not have spinners, slow bowlers......all the teams with slow bowlers/spinners did well.... Bangladesh did very well because the pitches fit them like a glove :)

Please show those stats where we have a better record that Aus in India and pakistan.... Like i said in my other post im not calling you a liar :p but I would like to see some proof :)
