I think he's to arrogant and stubborn to even try.

As for Smith, you must remember that he is not THAT good, there are WORLD CLASS bowlers out there who are suppose to take wickets every couple of overs. The new ball is suppose to take wickets.

And speaking about schoolboy cricket I played against KES couple times, wish I knew then who I would have bowled to and what my stats were!:p

I am for him. He's own words was that he agreed or then according to you "agreed to disagree" as he wanted to concentrate on his batting. That's the official version. Behind doors I can not say as you seem to have access and insight there and we do not have :D I would like to see him as CAP but with Smith doing OK lets keep it that way. for now!

No, I was referring to someone else saying that when he stuffs up he puts the rest of the team under pressure. Was trying to say that he does not always stuff up, but that sometime the bowlers just get a wicket.

Batsmen are suppose to score runs and bowlers are suppose to take wickets. Sometime batsmen succeed other time bowlers succeed. But I dont feel they "stuff up" really, like that ball that Smith got today was a awesome delivery.

I don't really get what you are trying to say there.

Do you then want Smith to never go out?

Do you feel a bowler only gets wickets by getting lucky? not by bowling a good ball?

Just ignore JK8...he's just prying at every response. You'll never win, he'll never give in regardless of how good your response is.

Looks like JK8 only lament sportsman when they fail, but never say anything when they succeed. Wonder if he then switch of the telly cos' he is upset if for example Smit score a ton, and smash the TV on 200. :D

Just got a chance to catch up on the cricket after two days of hectic **** at work.

Asif 4 sticks so far! Don't want to say it but I knew it ;) Rave reviews around the world about him, pity about the drug scandal. SA should really aim to win this test as Shoaib is back for the second test and Muhammad Yusuf for the third one possibly.

So Smith is being roasted again. It's a shame as I actually felt proud the way he turned the 'bad form' around and yes it was against India, but these guys competed with us till the last test on the last day, rain interruption and all! To come back from that...admirable!

What I do want to ask is the form of AB. Smith came right after his slump, Amla has come right, Prince has just got another 50, Gibbs had a good innings or two..but I can't recall AB :confused: I may have missed a 50 or so? Highest was 47?
 
AB is getting to that point now where he must be on thin ice. But he is really gifted, and again I feel the problem is with our coaching and management, he is not getting the support he needs.
 
drop him down the order to number 6... like they doing with gibbs... AB is our future wicketkeeper, if he's an opening batsmen! Even better for SA... We'll become like de aussies were!!!
 
SA not doing to badly atm. 350+ should be a good score.
 
JK8 just a question out of curiosity (and please note I mean no offense or anything): but is being Muslim in any way related to your die-hard support for Pakistan (or vendetta against SA seeing that SA is playing Pakistan)? Sorry if it seems ignorant or shallow-minded in any way, but you've not commented as much in any of the other cricketing threads.

:) i've noticed too... me indian.. posted alot alot in the SA vs India thread... I guess I support both teams, and its absolutely essential i go watch them live... Guess its natural for anyone from there ancestral heritage to be proud of there nation(s). :D GO SA GO!!!

I understand, and while I support SA because it's my place of birth, I also support the team representing my ancestral heritage (can't say which team :D) in other matches that don't involve SA. I'm just trying to better understand his hatred of the SA team, that's all. And while I'm definitely not Smiths biggest fan, he is a part of the team which represents my country so it's something I have to live with.
 
CTN test?

Just wondering if anyone here will be catching the game at Newlands live? My team and I are considering going on Mon 29/01 (4th day) but I wonder what pitch will be produced. With Shoaib and Asif in the team, and if it favours pace bowling, the game could be over in 3 days. :D

Just wanted to know who would be at Newlands?
