I've lost signal. The decoder says it may be due to bad weather. It's clear in CT. How's the weather up in Gauteng?
 
Partly cloudy in JHB South, looks overcast at the cricket. It's on SABC3 too (crap commentators apart from Ian Bishop and Aamir Sohail, but you can watch it until your signal returns).

Just got signal back.
Don't have a terrestrial antenna setup for SABC 3 unfortunately. But I've noticed the picture quality on SABC 3 is a lot worse than Supersport's. Or is SABC 3 worse on DSTV than on terrestrial broadcasts?
 
Seems ok on terrestrial broadcast but I still prefer watching it on Supersport. Widescreen rocks :D
 
LOL HFGP...sa Commentators are really crap. hate listening to them, so boring.
Worst of all is Craig marais. He stutters and is so stupid. Ian bish is okay, amir sohail is okay, but sohail says "AND THEN" like a million times....i try to guess when he says it next lol.

Well those two do provide a somewhat unbiased commentary. The SA commentators I feel are too biased towards SA. The overseas viewers probably become so irritating that it becomes unbearable, in much the same way that we get annoyed at the Aussie commentators when we tour there. Remember that they get the SABC feed, not the Supersport one.

I still liked Robin Jackman, he could be quite witty at times. I remember once when the umpires were trying to test the deformation of the ball by putting it through that metal loop, Jackman said that it makes no difference because if the ball was dented then it's not like the lump would come out on the other side :D
 
I like Kotie Grove's Afrikaans commentary, probably a bit biased, but he's quite funny at times, so even if the cricket may be boring at times, he is not. Just a pity the Afrikaans commentary is not available on the widescreen channel.

I haven't listened to Amir Sohail in a while now cause I catch the cricket on DSTV but man was he biased towards his Pakistan team. It was the time when Waqar was still bowling and I remember how he praised Waqar and always used to say "that's excellent bowling from Waqar" but when the SA quicks had the Pakistani batsmen playing and missing, he would say "that's a bad shot" but he NEVER praised our bowling.

I'll make a point to catch tomorrow's play on SABC 3 just to hear if things have changed. Also, LOL, there was a word that he would use the WHOLE day, can't remember tho :o
