Cricket: Test Cricket

Terrible news!!!

My landlady's duel-view decoder has gone bust and was taken in by the repair shop. They lent her a single-view decoder but this means that I can't watch the cricket tomorrow morning. :( :(

The only thing I can do is to follow Supersport's live scoring on their website. :(

Tune in to Radio 2000, at least you get commentary.

Go boys - make us proud again!!! South Africa deserve this match, and the series! Lets hope the weather plays ball...

Here's hoping for a 10 wicket mauling by lunch time...:D

101 runs to go.. 10 wickets in hand still
interestingly they say Sa has not lost a test series since 2006 :o

A lot of aussie supporters are not taking the news that SA will be no1 soon :p and keep saying it would not be possible if their older players were playing.. lol uhm.. people get old, era's go past such is life.(and the last 10yrs ausies have had a team of phenomenal players, now its just more normal, 2-5).

I think in the end this is good.. the top3-4 sides are really close togethor and competition will be rife.

The South African captain looks sombre as he walks off to applause but he knows what he's done to set South Africa up for a memorable series win. Amla is the new man in. Three men on the off side, close in.
28.5 Hauritz to Smith, OUT, a good shout and Billy Doctrove gives it! A quicker delivery gets Smith playing forward, the bat is just a fraction late to come down, its not a big stride and that ball would have taken out middle and leg, so another excellent innings from Smith comes to an end
GC Smith lbw b Hauritz 75 (133m 94b 10x4 0x6) SR: 79.78

Almost lunch time..

Almost there boys, what a series win it will be. Its definitely a turning point with our new guns coming up & more of the older Aussies falling away

Imagine the new year party the boys are going to be celebrating down under with their shielas..... :D

Awesome to watch - very proud of the entire team and glad McKenzie got a few runs under his belt as well. Was well worth staying up for!!

I anticipate major Hayden vengeance and point-proving in the ODI series...

Well done SA:)

Also read on cricinfo that it is a near certainty that Hayden will be given the chop. He was a formidable player when in good form.

I'm reading cricinfo now and only see an article from yesterday from one journalist calling for his "chopping". Pommie mentioned during lunch that the selectors might only make the one forced change with Brett Lee's injury. Wasn't confirmed though...

They've really got to consider dropping Symonds too. I mean, he's supposedly an all-rounder - but his knee injury means he can't bowl, he can hardly field and he scored a

.

If I were an Aus selector I'd get rid of Symonds, Hayden and Lee (forced). Siddil has been impressive - never seen him bowl before but he's quick, puts the ball in the right spot and moves it in the air and off the deck. Quite an asset. Pity Phil Jacques isn't fit for them as I'm sure he'd be their 1st choice Hayden replacement. The Watson injury is a pity for them as well. The commentators brought up Nathan Bracken who hasn't even been a consideration for the test team - not sure why - he's young and a decent bowler!

Yeah, you are right. I think I jumped the gun there:o
