Cricket world cup discussion thread

Are we in the dictionary yet? choke:breathe with great difficulty, as when experiencing a strong emotion; "She choked with emotion when she spoke about her deceased husband" 2: "the SA cricket team choked yet again"

Lol

Actually i believe in the aussie way of world cup cricket, win every single game you play!!!!!!!
In 1999 Aussie nearly didn't make it past the group stage after losing to NZ and Pakistan. They beat Scotland, Bandgladesh and WI on their way to Super 6's and the over all title..

 WTF are you talking about? They go out to win every match as does each and every team competing in the world cup (except maybe Pakistan). Defeats are never planned (except maybe Pakistans).

My point is when you start thinking like that it can become trend and you may say if we lose today no problem, rather now than later. Where as you should be thinking at all times WIN and WIN when you should like the aussies. When it matters get the business done and this is a shocking loss either way you look at and i don't buy into the o well let's get our loss done now. Does that mean we won't lose again? what does it mean when you say o well we got our loss out the way? Silly logic haha.

So we are guaranteed to win the games that count because we lost? or is there more chance of winning every game now that we have lost?

There are no positives here, we threw away an important game and mentally it will hurt us, media will tear us apart. Very bad :(.

Anyways we have lost so it's good now we have more chance of not losing again :D.

Why did Van Wyk play? Surely Botha should have played in his place?

+ 1 ... Botha's a reasonable spinner (and the wicket was taking spin) and a better batsman.
But again our lower order has had to try and get out of the mess that the top order has created.

I think Van Wyk is a brilliant player...getting old though.

Fsck all of you who use the *choker* tag. Rather support another country if you want to be that fickle.

While I'm upset that we lost, I'm glad that it happened now and not later in the tournament.

It's not the ending of the fscking world!

I'm all choked up.

LOL

I'm going to go read my bible, there must be something in there to describe what happened today and why.

None of the batsmen looked comfortable batting... From 124/3 yes the batsmen should have got there, but then the English batsmen could have made 200+??

I don't like talking to you because you go out of your way to make silly comments like this, the english shouldn't have made 200, we should have easily won. 6 wickets 48 runs. Bowling fielding, wides, no balls whatever mean nothing when you sit 124/3 needing 50 more runs.

For me Faf's silly and pointless run out was the turning point... He had done all the hard work, sort of got himself in then that.. Not blaming him for the loss but certainly a turning point...

There is nobody to blame when something this epic goes down. Lose as a team and accept that you just produced the most epic choke of all time and remember the time when we chased over 400.

Stay positive and start to swallow.

The English collapsed at 154 Proteas collapsed at 124...

Anyway hope none of you are have cottage pie for lunch :D

And just prior to that De Villiers leaves one alone and it knocks the bails off!!! Bizarre!!! Seriously, SA has used up all their bad luck for this world cup in this match alone.... watch we going to cruise from here on in starting with India next Saturday in Nagpur...
