Faf needs someone at the other end to constantly lay down the law and dominate his decision , because left to his own devices, well - we've seen what happens....

I'm sorry but yes, to lose a game against New Zealand when you are at 100/2 and need 120 to win is throwing it away. Stupid shot selections and a stupid runout. The wickets started to fall and we went into our patented deer in the headlights mode.

Well now I hope they do. And not so much because I'm bitter about losing to them but because of that little show of "sportsmanship" displayed there by Mills, Vettori and Taylor. What the hell was that all about??

BTW SA didn't loose today because they choked - they've lost because on the day NZ was better

I'll usually defend the guys but on this occasion I disagree. We were the better team up 'til the point of AB's runout. Why we had to try and get fancy when we needed less than a run a ball I'll never know. It was a choke - pure and simple.

I'm honestly in favour of getting rid of the lot and starting fresh. To me it's not a question of who to drop, it's a question of who to keep.

I'd keep Amla, AB, Steyn, Tahir, Morkel, Lopsy, Faf, Van Wyk and Ingram. Toss the rest of them, and get youngsters in who play without fear (like Miller, who was unlucky to miss out). Then decide on a captain.

Yes, Amla would make a great captain. The guy is great at his job, calm, humble, hard working and has a good cricketing brain. I think he will lead from the front and is our absolute best candidate right now.

I hear what you're saying. He's been terrible in pressure situations. I still cringe when I think of that T20 cup match.

But who then? AB just doesn't feel right, he's too much of a boy. We could always use Kallis as a stop-gap, but I doubt anyone would agree to it. Steyn? He started playing cricket when he was like 16. Probably not a very good cricketing brain i.t.o. captaincy, and he's a bowler. Bowlers can't last as captains. Maybe just make Tsotsobe captain? Everyone will be happy. Lol.

yeah , not a bad lot -except maybe Van Wyk - he hasn't yet proven to anyone that he's better than any other new protea who's trying to get his shot at a permanent spot in the team, I would also defenitely give Albie another shot.

Like I said , the problem isn't really with our bowling attack at all - it's the middle order , actually the current top-middle order already sucks arse, SA needs to get their act together as far as batting consistency goes....

You forgot about Kallis. Duminy was also pretty decent /most/ of the matches. Just need a bit of batting beyond him.

The problem in the top five is Smith.

Nope even Kallis, it's time to start fresh and young so he should concentrate on tests. Duminy only bats well when there's no pressure, like he did against Netherlands. He falls apart otherwise.
