I agree with the legend.

"When I see that of the eight Champions League quarter-finalists, four are English, that is amazing.

"But while there are four teams there, there are none in the UEFA Cup and the England national team did not qualify for the European Championship last year.

"That means two things. One, that in the Premier League there is a great difference between the top four and the rest and two, that the national team is paying the price for for having a small pool to choose from.

"Footbal would become more even with the 6+5 because teams with more resources would have to change their philosophy.

"They would have to create their own players in their academies or sign them from smaller clubs. That money will then go round the smaller clubs and the outcome will be a strong league and a strong national team."

:eek: why dont you guys just give this a rest ,La liga's time will come again when they will dominate europe ,i cant for the life of me understand why they are making such a big issue out of this ,just because the english clubs are dominating ,when all the best players in the world were in italy early 90's the english clubs never complained about italians buying all the best players in the world

and cruyff just scared Barca gonna get pak again :D

Why do you take everything as if its a personal attack? Are you incapable of discussing a topic without making this into a ''Everybody hates the EPL'' topic?

Nobody is insulting the league. He is just giving his view and it makes sense.
 
From what I saw the national team had a good team and talented players to make it to the Euro... the problem was both the previous coaches didn't know how to play Gerrard and Lampard on the same team and they didn't know who to fill the left side of the park. Whilest they continued to fill the right side with a weak winger... the last world cup england played with virtually 10 men on the pitch as Sven kept insisting that Beckham should play with his recovering metatasal injury...

because who would benefit the most from a 6+5 rule ,your beloved Barca ,that is why you keep posting it and why you are all for it :sick:

and there is no problem with the english national team ,just because they didnt qualify for euro 2008 because of an incompetent manager they are using this as a way to prove their(fifa,uefa) point which is pointless,

remember France never qualified for USA 94 , Holland never qualified for euro 2000 did anyone ever say anything about them NO ,in future more Big countries wont make it to big tournaments ,are we gonna change the rules then again ,i dont think so ,so why all of a sudden change it for the english :rolleyes:

Show me where i posted being pro 6+5? If i keep posting it, there should be endless topics me debating that i want it implemented. So show me.

If you think there is no problem with the English national team then you are smoking some gooood sh*t!

Get off your high horse and stop thinking the world revolves around the English. As a matter of interest, the only reason why i posted this article was because Cruyff states that the EPL has no depth and that there is a massive gap between the top 4 and the rest.

Supasta and i have been saying that for months. I dont care about the 6+5 rule.

actually latelly it does ;),why else would they want to change the rules ,Platini and Blatter have openly in the past criticised the top 4 english clubs of poaching the best talent ,yet the dont say anything about the italians and spanish when they recruit the best south americans for next to nothing ,at least the english clubs compensate clubs for taking their talent ;)

You people think there is a conspiracy against English clubs. Same people that always thinks that UEFA CL draw is rigged. When United got handed that dream draw, the forum was silent.

A few days before, users were saying that the draw will probably be rigged to stop English clubs from dominating.

Can you please start naming players who the English have poached pre-1998? That's when it all started. Moreover... how about just naming any half-decent spaniards (Fab & the Benitez contingent excluded) or italians that english teams have poached. please. please... pleaaaaaaase...

Where was England before 98? Were they even on the European map? Why do you say it all started in 98? Do you think English players made the EPL what it is today?

Have read a lot about this 6+5 rule and I agree with it. Would like to see it introduced soon. They would have to make a decision and then give all the clubs a few years notice in order to prepare for it. There are plenty foreigners in England and they can't just be shipped out at the drop of a hat. It needs to be done slowly.
 
English have admitted in the media for years that they have a problem poducing young UK talent.Its a joke people on here think the complete opposite when every english person/media/paper admits this.

Seriously... I support Chelsea because a mate of mine forced me to watch their games at the time I was getting an interest in footy. I'm not English and couldn't care less if there were 10 or 2 English players if it weren't for the fact that no brilliant Englishmen means your team lack fighting spirit. Which is why Chelsea have Terry, Lampard and Cole(s).

Yeah, yeah, some of you are Englishmen and feel your league is being invaded by foreigners... well... it is and unless a law brings about change, it ain't gonna happen. The EPL is the most watched league in the world and clubs will have players from all over simply because it is financially sound. They will also bring in the best players on the planet, not just England, because that means a higher chance of success.

Bah...
 
We all know the best players on the planet play in La Liga ;)

Hence why the EPL clubs are always linked with La Liga players.

You hardly find La Liga teams buying stars from England.

That's because the English are generally crap. It's also because the Spanish develop players better. It's also because the Spanish have one foot in South America (most need only 2 years to get Spanish citizenship)...

Oh yeah. Forgot to mention one thing in my previous post. Cruyff talks about how there are no English teams competing for the EUFA Cup. Of course they don't give a toss. They get more money and more fans from an EPL match than from winning the bloody League Cup of Europe. What would you focus on? 4th place or a 4th rate European trophy?

Over 70% of la liga players are spanish, so even though their are south americans in the league the majority are spanish players.

Also the Uefa cup is taken seriously over here, you may not think its a big deal but winning it means a lot to the teams/fans in europes.

Look at Zenit who destroyed manu in the supercup that showed people how strong the competition in the uefa cup is.
