If you are into the arb, then it's useful.

Bitstamp - Verification takes really long, up to 2 weeks according to their website

Coinbase UK - Technically, shouldn't be on the list (need a UK passport or drivers - if you fortunate enough to have, then you can add a ZAR credit card. I've got friends using Investec Credit Card)

Kraken - They do, but they are still offline?

Are their others that are reliable that us South African folk can use?

yeah, and it looks like they are doing verification by phone as well, before you can proceed.

Seems like even with a verified account there is a daily limit of $3000 (on a payment card)

$20,000 on an account level daily, so if you have 6 cards linked.......

You can also buy in EUR and GBP with their own daily limits...

and then you sit with 3,000 in each currency, and you have to buy BTC (or whatever) and pays fees on those transactions instead of a single transaction?

These guys have some interesting processes to get transactions to authorised. I've read/heard some horror stories about transactions taking days, up to weeks to reflect in ACT wallets

edit: though I've seen the good side of the coin as well, 15 min LTC tx from Bittrex
