Cryptocurrency Mining

NiceHash says a lot of things...

Like? I run a mini gpu farm and the calc has always been spot on. So why would it be any different with an asic miner? They push X amount hash for X script. Sure, it fluctuates as the buyers sometimes pay a bit more.

They calculate based on perfect world conditions, and this is what people see and base their decisions on.

Neither with my GPU mining experience nor my ASIC have I gotten what they said.

It's close(ish) as you can get, and one gets that, but I probably wouldn't use spot on to describe it.

It depends how you look at it. The daily figure to me always looks accurate. Not that I look at it daily, but when I do it does match. The monthly figure should be ignored, it’s based on current profitability and will never be accurate as it will go up or down.

If you however look at the profitability from the past 30 days, it will match up with whatever you mine with, especially if you use their API.

Maybe spot on is not the right word. But I think we can agree it’s quite accurate at most times, depending how you look at it

If I had an extra $1700- lying around, I would have tried getting my hands on one of the S9 miners.

Had a look, with shipping (no PSU) it will come to $1500, only issue is they only accepting BCC as payment.

Nicehash profitability is all over the place since the fork.

Well now fine, how are these puppies to put a nice dent in your Elec bill?
Is this legit. The power not so bad on the LTC varient. It hashes 8 times a L3 at twice the cost so thats a huge win. At current rate 150 to 200 dollars a day . Even if difficulty increase two months ROI

Bitmain have the L3+ available again this morning if you are quick enough. $1700

I'm a little surprised that they actually still have stock at 08:40. Cause for concern? Usually they sell out much quicker....

Hard to say, scrypt mining for me has been reasonably steady for longer periods, but this is 2 months from now and anything could happen.

I'm more curious why it didn't sell out in a flash like it usually does. Maybe people losing confidence in scrypt mining, or perhaps also anticipating a next generation miner? Who knows.

Its not the flavour of the month now that prices are down a touch. The entire market has settled. There are graphics cards for sale again too.
