Anyone happen to have a Bitmart coupon or something lying around? LOL! Will be buying there soon (hopefully) and could do with a discount, considering the silly markups.

Are the RX580 8GB cards worth investing into? Looking at putting together a 4-card rig to start with.

Yes the 580's are worth it. Personally I prefer AMD's rx cards. They run quite cool under load. I have 570 running 73C with only 20% fan speed. I'd recommend either sapphire nitros or msi gaming x cards.

Armors are **** imho... more their cooling than performance.

Right, last non-ASIC question, then I'll move it across, but should I rather be looking for 8GB, or are 4GB cards still good to go?

4GB cards are still good to get. ETH ( which is really the only coin people are worried about with DAG size ) will hit POS way before it hits 4GB in size

Just to carry on with what Acidrain said. I have a couple RX580s 8GB (MSI VGA Graphic Cards RX 580 ARMOR 8G OC ) and one RX 570 8GB (Sappire NITRO) . I love my AMD cards and will pick up a few more until Nvidia release volta then decide again.

Here are my temperatures

Thanks.

I'm torn between 4 x rx580 or 3 x 1070. Will think a out it.

Rest of the kit I'll get will be:

Biostar TB250 mb
Core i3
4GB RAM
60GB SSD
1000w PSU

Thoughts, suggestions?

Not sure on the price of the i3 but maybe change to Celeron ( latest i think is G9330 ). You don't need much more than that.

Anybody know where I can get a cheap mining Rig frame?
Leetpro is the cheapest. Shipping takes a while as he on a farm in middle of nowhere. In cpt hashrate is open, but R1600 for a frame but higher quality and stackable. I buy from hashrate as it I can collect there.

Need to see where I can get that elbow grease

Reminds me of a funny story, completely unrelated, but you guys will appreciate it;

So many years ago I was working as a data center engineer, and we were busy moving racks and stacking equipment. There was one particular rack that just wouldn't budge, and I turned to the junior techie who was all too eager to help to hear his thoughts on the matter. He enthusiastically participated, asking "Perhaps the bolts are damaged, and that's why they won't come loose?". I explained all we needed was a little bit of elbow grease.

We battled for a while longer, said techie nowhere to be found. A couple of minutes later I get a phone call from the store foreman on duty, trying to clarify a requisition that was submitted to him: "Hi. I have **** here, and he's trying to book out a can of elbow grease"

I giggled, told the foreman to send him back with a bottle of Q-20.

Today he is a very successful and accomplished engineer, and to this day still known as Mr. Elbow Grease :)
