Cryptocurrency Mining

Bios mod is not that hard, just follow the guide

I would go for 1060s, they priced around R3900 atm on wootware.

6x 1060 makes around 22 usd a day. R23400 for 6 cards.
6x rx 580 makes around 31 usd a day. R37200 for 6 cards.

Can you send me a link to the 1060's at that price please (or which one you think is best to go for)?

Want to try order everything I need today still.

Hi What OS would you guys recommend ? thinking about Eth os (how is that ) ? or would you recommend windows 10 ?
Also is there any initial setting up to do when starting to mine with a 1070. bios settings ? downclocking ? thanks

Looks good at 4k!

Yeah think I am going to order 6 of them in the meantime.

Now just to find all the other hardware - it seems the mobo's are also showrt of stock and risers.

WIth regards to the Ram, is 4GB good or should I rather get 8GB and the CPU, which is the one to go for?

I have to get the kids a PC. Would it be advisable to get a gaming PC (Gaming case) with 2x GPU's that could mine when they not using it? Thinking of 2 x 8Gb gpus. 480, 580 or 1070s.

4gb ram is fine, cpu go for celeron g3930 pr g4400 pentuim.

Hashrate.co.za has risers and wootware i think has boards.

yes 2 gpu's will be fine in case, use to run 2x 1070 like that.

Thanks will have a look.

Is either of those 2 CPU's preferred? I see there is about a R200'ish difference between the two.

Go for the Pentium, it will have a little bit extra grunt for futureproofing

Nope just get the cheapest in stock one.

Intel probably never sold this much celeron's lol!

Hahaha yeah was just thinking that.

Hashrate have risers which is good only question is which on to go for? They have 3 different types and the prices differ by R100 per card - any chance you can link to the correct one?

I use the R150 ones. The more exspensive ones has leds built in to tell you that it is working or not . The new biostar tb250 bios has this built in, the post screen it tell you which pcie slot is working and not working.

If you keep the Pentium for three years, you will be paying, effectively, R5.55 per month more for a Pentium with 14% better performance overall. [http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Pentium-G4400-vs-Intel-Celeron-G3930/3539vsm235058]

Just something to keep in mind if you intend on keeping it for that long. Or even just selling it a few years down the line. The Pentium would get you a few bucks more than a Celeron.

Just my 2c

Edit: Not trying to discredit gtxgaming's idea, just telling you how it would appear to me using my logic ;)
