Cryptocurrency Mining

When did this update happen?

So is it all mining software that doesn’t allow 3GB cards on windows?
Yes windows takes additional vram from your card with creators update, it's very hard to find windows 10 install without that update.

Ahhhh well that sucks.

So I need to then install Linux and then a mining Programme? Any suggestions as what to use and also what software to use for over clocking?

Hiveos youc an install that on flash drive, its has mining programs installed. Plenty of guides on youtube, basically need just setup the wallets.

Through it won't auto switch for profits.

Ok thanks will have a look. Hopefully it works.

+1 for HiveOS.

I got my 11 card rig running it from a flash drive.
For me the major benefit was the significant hashrate bump i got compared to windows 10.

Will do wild this evening and see how it goes.

How’s does OC work - the same as with MSI Afterburner on windows or differently?

Also does hiveOS come bundled with mining OS?

Will find a video on YouTube maybe and take it from there.

It works a little differenty in that you have to enter values instead of just moving a slider. On all the pages are links to youtube videos and they have info bubbles you can click on for clarification.

It comes with all of the popular miners at least. You just have to setup your pool and related settings (called wallets in hiveos).

Thanks busy copying image to usb to give it a go.

What is the best miner to use (the drop down menu when adding a rig)? I am running 5x 1060 3GB cards.

Will search online to see if I can find best overclocking that works with my cards and Hive OS.

In HiveOS on the OC page is a link at the bottom to other peoples oc settings. Just search for other 1060 3G...

I'm mining with team Red so i can't comment on Nvidia. I'm using claymore to mine eth with a mix of RX x70 / x80 cards.

Check out whattomine.com. The presets only has 6gig cards listed on the 1060 but if you know your hashrate and power use you can manualy enter it then hit calculate to check what is most profitable for your rig.

Weirdest thing happened now. Plugged flash drive and booted. After a few updates it just started mining. No where did it ask for my worker ID or password (as tutorial says it would) and when click stats it shows offline but the system was definitely mining as I had hdmi cable connected and could see it mining.

Have taken out usb and going to try flash it again with OS and go again to see if it works.

Does HiveOS run on simplemining.net?

This is the second time I’ve installed HiveOS in flash drive, plugged in and booted miner but HiveOS still says offline but the rig is mining. If I log into Simplemining.net I can see it is running and gives me hashrate etc.

Extremely confused...

Does the rig show offline when you are on the.hiveos.farm page?

It also seemed to make its own group etc on simplemining - is that correct?

Really worried something going on here.

There are some preset wallets loaded on HiveOS which is meant for convenience. Some do have wallets addresses loaded so it might be that one of those has started for some weird reason.

If you can see the rig as online on the.hiveos.farm page just stop the miner and configure your own settings.

Click on Rigs at the top then click on the miners name in the "Name" collumn.
Click "Stop" at the bottom"
Now just go to Wallets and set it up, once done go back to the miner setup page and select the wallet and appropriate miner and then click "Restart"

I might be talking past you. I never interacted with the rig directly past setup as i had the monitor directly connected to the onboard graphics and not the primary gpu like they suggested so i had no gui.

I only interact with it via their website.
