I have done it with a 32Gb USB3 drive, I can tell you it is very slow. I have borrowed an Mecer Stick PC that has Windows 8 on it but I have not tried it as I need a free HDMI port and a powered USB hub. It also dont take PCI-x but was wanting to try it on my USB miners.

I might just go with a laptop HDD, as much as I would like a SSD, the prices are a bit high at the moment. Also I believe the regular HDD's have a longer lifespan, or so I've read.

Why do people worry about SSD lifespans? You think you'll be writing 500TB+ to the drive in a short period of time?

I just deselect all other algorithms and only leave it on Equihash (I've got 2GB cards so can't do Dagger-Hash)
Yeah ended up doing this. Kind of defeats the object though, especially considering it's one of the big selling points.

But they mention not to send directly? Or is it a previous problem that got sorted out?

Anybody using Exodus? Or is it better to send mining to something like polinex trade a little and from there send to Jaxx / Exodus?
Can you elaborate on this issue? I haven't heard of anything like that, but I also haven't really been that involved with this either, so perhaps I missed something. I used to send to Gatehub, but looking to use Jaxx now as a single platform.

Can I point my mining rig payouts to Jaxx?

No, Jaxx is a lightweight wallet that is not designed to receive mining payouts. We do not recommend pointing any mining rig payouts to Jaxx as it may cause issues on your end as well as potentially causing issues on our end.
One transaction sent from your pool is actually composed of several "micro-transactions" that may cause complications.
If you click on the transaction ID of one of your payouts, you'll see that there's several inputs as well as outputs so it's not a simple send / receive transaction that Jaxx is designed for.
Please redirect your mining payouts as soon as possible and wait for a new update to rectify this issue.

ETH has been fine so far, but BTC is a no go. It still goes into the address, but Jaxx wont pick it up.

Thanks.

I've also changed now to a Bitgo wallet instead of the Gatehub one. The minimum deposit for GH is higher than what I can do on a regular basis, so not sure how it will be handled between Nicehash and Gatehub.

I am also placing an order for risers tomorrow in quite a large quantity, that is going to be shipped using airfreight. I expect them to be here by the weekend or Monday or Tuesday next week at the latest. If anyone would like some let me know before 9am tomorrow morning.

I'm in Cape Town and will take 6 if the price is right. Please confirm ASAP

I am starting off with the Nicehash miner. What kind of internet line speed do you need when running more than 6x 1080ti's?

I don't believe internet speed to be such a huge factor, any broadband connection should be fine.

Yep, kind of what I heard. I'll be getting a dedicated lte / 3g connection with tiny cap to separate it from my home lan.

Will kill your network.

The traffic is not muc, but what I found with wireshark is millions of little packets.

When I have the 6 home rigs on I cannot stream for shiat - On a fiber line. So moved them too.

That said the network bandiwdth is not important, but the latency is incredibly important.

On windows ping -n 50 -l 128 SERVER

Replace SERVER with each of the NiceHash stratum server locations:

speedtest.eu.nicehash.com
speedtest.usa.nicehash.com
speedtest.hk.nicehash.com
speedtest.jp.nicehash.com
speedtest.in.nicehash.com
speedtest.br.nicehash.com

Less than 200 is preferred.
