Can be somewhat risky as they might just completely suck at mining?

The day that Vega launches, it is unlikely that the algorithms will be optimised to mine. The GCN generations has been tuned and tuned again. Some dev’s developing miners believe that Maxwell and Pascal is still underdeveloped and has more potential.

Sapphire NITRO+ RX 470/570 4GB (Hynix). Modded Strap, memory clock, undervolted.

You need to chase pre-orders or hunt down the second takes (well, the used ones) on carb or elsewhere. When you are struggling to get these, look at GPUs with Hynix memory like MSI or XFX, Gigabyte is a gamble, but some G1’s comes with Hynix memory as I have learned.
