Cryptocurrency Mining

See, this is what I have been thinking about too. So let's assume a 800w PS, and let's take the two 1050 cards as above, each running at, say, 60w. How do you go about calculating, with having some sort of equipment or thingamabob, what your consumption is going to be? Any way of seeing that via app or something? If the PS provides a maximum of 800w, then how does the varying utilization affect the power drawn from your mains?

Check PSU efficiency rating. This will vary according to load but let's assume 90%. GPUs draw 60x2, everything else should add up to 100W max (assuming no GPU mining only on the machine) so thats 220W. 220/0.9 = 224W at the wall

In my case I can run my 6xGTX1070 at 70% power before losing hashrate, so roughly 600W+100W which puts me at ±92% efficiency on my PSU, total wall draw 760W

Ok ok ok, VERY late to this party,

Been doing my homework and had some advice from GTX,

What Rig would you guys suggest for around 50k?

Here is what I have come up with so far.

GIGABYTE Z270-Gaming K3
Intel Celeron G3930- 2.90GHz Dual Core, Socket 1151 2MB L3
GIGABYTE nVidia GeForce GTX1070 - 8192MB GDDR5, 256-Bit Memory Bus, PCI Express 3.0 x6
Risers x6
120GB 2.5" SATA 3 (6GB/s) SSD
1200W Power Supply
4GB DDR3-1600MHz Module (1x 4GB)

Then a DIY case.

Pretty much what I have, only difference is the mobo

Yea this Mobo is the only one I can see that will fix 6 cards from my supplier,

Are you doing Zcash?

As an alternative to Nice Hash I tried MultiPoolMiner, better results, but you need to manually optimise.

Why the sudden spike in Zcash?

Why the sudden spike in Zcash?

Zcash has an extremely high cap, and the roadmap is now becoming more entrenched with Ethereum as an added security. High hopes. You will see other Zerocash protocol coins boom as well when their roadmap is on track or in active development, and when they are more circulated. Zcash has a big advantage with a huge community to stay ahead, it is also a mother coin. Coins which are in low circulations will have a low price, usually the pump and dumps, exception to the 42-coin, 23 Skidoo, etc.

Great, thanks for the info.
