Cryptocurrency Mining

The community driven coins, many which are Zerocash protocol, largely owned by the public must make the decision by voting, every stake has a vote. Currently, Zcash, by utilising the Zerocash protocol, has a strong cross-chain integration proposal and will be highly valued in time. 'Z' coins are a good option to mine, and many are a unique alternative to Zcash which makes this market lucrative.

Ether is premined and the decision to go PoS is mostly driven by its owner. Irrc, the owner currently has an 75-85% ownership stake, don't know whether this is still true.

For the time being I agree mining is going to continue, my thinking is around the future of these currencies, i.e. will the proof of work principle slowly be replaced by the proof of stake, which means more in it for the investors and less for the miners (personally I believe that POS can kill the whole industry, as it will discourage spending).

OT:

Does anyone here know whether you can still checkout on Takealot with the PayFast’s instant EFT option and pay in BTC? I want to test this, but there is no calculation prior to conducting the transaction.

Raru you can. It uses luno.com BTC price.

Aha ok they pretty high end models look the same as amd ones.

I would prefer to have 1070's but stock was an issue when I built my rig.

I've got 3 coming from .ca though, looking forward to putting those to work as well

What are your back orders like for your 1070's?

My back orders are quite long line and stock is looking really bad atm. I think this shortage is going go on for quite a while.

Ordered some stuff this week on Takealot and paid with PayFast EFT. There was an option of paying with Bitcoin. Read a bit about it on PayFast's website. Here is the link: https://www.payfast.co.za/bitcoin/

Nicehash about to tank!

I cannot wait for the GPU sell off in the next few weeks. I need more so will be shopping.

Just monitoring stuff. With the nicehash tank incoming the people who are gonna get "hurt" the most are the people who invested in low tier GPU mining hardware. (1060, 1050s)
So my rx 480s should be ok for the time being.

Need to get some 1070s or 580s but not at inflated prices.

Pretty sure the 1060 6gb will still have some life in them for a while.
