RX Vega 64 and 56 Summary (MINING SIDE)
- RX Vega 64 Hashrate - 33 MH/s Stock (Overclocking got 40+ MH/s)
- RX Vega 56 Hashrate - 31 MH/s Stock (Unknown if its 35 Mh/s Overclocked)
- RX Vega 64 is $499 (listed at $599 right now)
- RX Vega 56 is said to be $399 (better Price/Performance ratio)
- Both 64 & 56 eat a lot of power expect to be around 210W (undervolted) and 295W Stock.
Conclusion: For now till drivers are actually tweaked and bios developers get samples, I would not recommend getting RX Vega, especially the 64 Edtion since its high price.
NOTE: I would also wait for actual Aftermarket coolers to come out from MSi, Asus, Gigabyte, etc.. since these blower style reference coolers run at like 85 Degrees load.
Sources come from multiple reviews but one of the best ones is from PC Gamer
I think that's a bit of a stretch to be honest, but still, the D3 should definitely klap the L3+ in terms of raw profitability.

Profits seem to have gone up. It's currently over $8000 a month.
I see bitmain have stock for end November shipping.
I have already ordered two lol. No more for now.
Did yours arrive yet?
Keep the bitcoin, don't buy a rig.So true story: I'd been dabbling with BTC in 2012 / 2013 and bough BTC via BitX to my blockhain wallet, just for the hell of it... and yup... I have some cash available. I had totally forgotten about. Actually no that's a lie, I had forgotten the credentials to get into blockhain and I finally managed to get it working. (Lost my Google authenticator creds)
So yeh! 0.4 BTC lying around since 2013. It worth around R25k I believe. I think I paid in just under R900. I want to invest that in something to do some mining.
If you guys were starting out what questions would you be asking right now?
I dont have any other cash available and my credit cards are maxed out. I'm hoping to make some extra bucks with this. Please dont tell me to pay my credit cards with my BTCThere's just no fun in that!
The research I've done is looking into pandaminer (B3), there's also the Antminer D3 which I could afford. Not sure about building a rig due to GPU shortage.
Some stuff I'm not sure on is how important is the pool you join? NiceHash is a pool, yes? Can I join NiceHash pool with an Antminer, and pandaminer? Am I locked into a pool with either of those?
I have contacts in the US and China who can ship stuff to me, is that an advantage I should use to buy hardware in either country, i.e. buy 6 GPU's in China and build a rig? Is there is rig builder guide you can refer me to? Should I buy hardware in the Us and build a rig. Should I import a pandaminer or antminer?
What would you guys do in my situation i.e. to reinvest that BTC in mining?
I work in Cape Town for a yank company so I might even stick the miner in my drawer to save on power costs :crylaugh:
I'm busy reading the guide, so sorry if all my questions are already answered there. Just really stoked about this cash I "found"!
I see bitmain have stock for end November shipping.
They either have a lot more stock than ever before, or people are not so eager to grab these anymore, as i see the D3 units are still available
Keep the bitcoin, don't buy a rig.
Sit on that coin, you won't regret it.
Looking at Bitmain, I could order one of these right now including shipping for under 25k. According to NiceHash calculator, I'll have a ROI in under 30 days. (Thats on the L3, I assume they're similar)
Why would any TD & H not be throwing all their old mutual savings at this?
Ok. I hear you, but why? My investment is R900. On paper, I could buy this D3 miner and make my BTC back in 30 days. What am I issing, what's the catch?
By the time the miner arrives at the end of November the difficulty will be up and ROI could be anything from 30 days to never, unless the price of Dash or other X11 coins skyrocket, but that's impossible to say.
How is this any more risky than investing the same or more in a rig with 6X GPU's?
Difficulty mining Eth will also increase but everyone is saying look at a 12 month ROI, not 30 days. With this D3 miner I'll get at the end of Novemebr, is it a reasonable risk to expect a ROI in 12 months? I see it as far less effort and risk for considerbly more potential reward.
Thoughts?

There are other coins to mine when ETH becomes too difficult, a GPU mining rig has a longer lifespan because of that, and a decent resell value in the future when you want to upgrade to the next generation of GPU's, the Asic miners are a one trick pony, once Dash becomes too difficult there are other X11 coins, but none of them have any huge value behind them, you could hope someone releases a new x11 coin, but it's impossible to know, they will make for nice ornaments one day, I still want one, but I like taking the risks and hoping for the best. So far my L3+ miners are pushing out some decent numbers, 3 more weeks and its paid for and then all profit going forward, but even that's uncertain, a lot can change in 3 weeks.
Expect a D3+ or even a L3++ in the future with lower power usage and better Hash rate, it's inevitable.
I have someone in China (Shanghai) right now investigating where and how to buy an AntMiner D3 to get it to me as quickly as possible. Unfortunately my Chinese / Mandarin leaves a bit to be desired so I can't order from any of the chinese sites directly. If I can get an AntMiner pronto and turn a profit in 6-12 weeks, I'll then invest in a Eth mining rig, if, as everyone mentioned already nothing drastic changes.
But you're optimitic you'll have paid for your L3 in 3 weeks time, so glass half full, right
BTW, My assumption in shipping from China and the reason the D3 is only shipping in November is because they need to fill containers? I assume the units are available for purchase in China? Or are they waiting for investment to manufacture. Doesn't seem to be right ito time that they are raising capital to manufacture. But I'll find that out in the next day or so.
I'm your new best friendI really am thinking about getting one, I want to decide before they run out of stock. So I'm going to think about it until the end of the day and make a decision, the next batch will be December unless this is the last one.
:crylaugh: Your new friend is a noob who's clinging to the hopes of some dodgy online calculator as the basis of my logic!!
Jokes, aside, the person in China is there as an english teacher and has been looking for a business opportunity. I've chatting to him for some time about finding something to export and this is has seriously got his attention.
