Thoughts on buying kit from Alibaba? Seems cheap on a lot of the stuff, and it's a lot of $$$ to hand over.

I've got a schitload of SIA, I'm stopping mining it tomorrow. I'm also looking for a replacement coin. I think I'll do this weekly on my backup rig since my main miner is still doing the nicehash dance.

When will the dumping of 1070s start or won't people be rushing for 2070s so much?
 
Hey all, I am contemplating to pull the trigger for my first mining rig. Looking to mine Eth or dual mine eth and something else, or whatever is the most profitable as time goes on.

The main reason I want to buy is because I am sitting on a 14k loot.co.za voucher, and will have about another 5k voucher by next month. Thus I can buy almost have the rig with voucher I got over past year with my eBucks earnings. I want to invest these vouchers somewhere, I know I am a bit late to the party.

I am currently look at the following setup:
Z270 prime-A
i3 7100T
Corsair RM1000i (1000W)
8GB corsair vengeance LPX (2x4GB) (2666MMHz)
120GB kingston SSD(M.2 SATA)
1 x 1060 GTX 6GB (Either MSI gaming X OR Asus expedition)
5 x 1060 6GB WINDFORCE OC 6G MI - Mining edition cards

Now I am rather new to mining and crypto in general, only been reading some threads and watched some videos.
Here are some general other questions/comments:

I picked 6GB versions because I am looking to keep going for as long as possible, I know the DAG size will increase, and 3GB and soon 4GB cards will not be much useful for eth mining for example? I am not to sure about the timeframes, but I am assuming 6GB cards will be useful for at least long enough that I can still make some profit. I am happy with a ROI of 10-12months, since the I am technically only paying for half of the rig, since I am buying with reward points.

Mining edition cards. I know they suck in terms of resell value and warranty. But it cannot be that bad? Loot atleast gives a 6 month return period. Should be able to get 22 - 25MH/s?

z270 prime-A. I read it can be upgrade to 8 slots, so I might even upgrade the rig to add another 2 cards.

Out of my pocket I am investing around R18000 odd, considering the risks, I am willing to lose it all, just don't want to miss out if I "could have" made something if prices of the cryptos jump, or something else becoming profitable for mining.

Any comments on the rig will be greatly appreciated.

Yes best to go 6gb cards , dag file will be over 3gb next year. Resale value will be be bad ,but at least cards has display ports. Those cards should do around 23mh maybe 24. Mining will always be a risk, but risk is lower now that there more than 1 profitable coin to mine.

I'd rather be going 1070 if starting now only.

1060 does 21-22 (well mine anyway). 1070 does about 30 if I'm not mistaken? So 3 x 1060 is about the same as 2 x 1070.

I've heard of 1060's doing 25MH/s, and besides, 1070 cost around 8k to 9k now which sucks. Not to speak about availability
