Cryptocurrency Mining

Ok so my dual psu issue was my own stupidly

The 2nd psu was too small handle the load over a long period of time, hence it randomly shut down.

Mainly because I forgot to add -10% power in the config for the vega cards, they were maxing out the psu!
In my case it was the add2psu that was faulty. Replaced it and the rig is stable. Haven't had a shutdown in 2 weeks.

Rig is running 100%, expect for restart now and then. Through I just added the miner to launch on startup, so not really issue anymore.

400hs was about max, I had friend which did 440hs by pushing the core clock even more.

Yep power still 30watts a card.

I used gigabyte 2gb OC models.

Awesome thanks for the feedback.

Just to try it out, basically. Quite like the concept
Seen a few people receive their stock internationally and they are quite happy with them

What’s the thoughts or opinions on using Simple Miner OS instead of windows? Has a great web based UI.

You can also look at HiveOS. Similar to SMOS but some reviewers like it more.

I can vouch for HiveOS - painless to set up and administer, currently running my rig and a friend's rig.
Free for 3 rigs as well, so there's no downside to trying it out.

Give it a shot and see if it works for you.

+1 For HiveOS

Wanna try out Minerstat this weekend as it sounds like they have launched now

I like that they have profit switching built in, but I'd like to first see how they calculate that - using whattomine.com to profit switch isn't exactly the best option when mining against some pools.

Give us a shout here on your experience.

With the low bitcoin and alt prices what are the most profitable pools and software to use for mining? At the moment I am using nice hash because it was inconvenient . But now I am wondering if I can get out a little more profit by moving.

Hi guys.

Does anyone still mine BTC here, and do any of you run the Whatsminer M3 Asic?

I wanna know if it is profitable, and what kind of returns I can expect when running it in Jhb, with electricity prices considered.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah it is will make you around 11usd a day before electricity prices.

Thanks.

I've been running mine in an industrial area, but relocating means I'll have to pay residential electricity rates now.
I've been considering selling it, and getting a rig to mine alts instead.

I have switched away from mining profitable coins, moving deep into the uncharted privacy coin territories hoping to see them pumped in +12 months.

Can someone please tell me how much my mining rig would use on electricity? It is 6x 1060's. Am located in Blouberg, Cape Town.

I thought these cards don't use much electricity but this past month my electricity usage has been alot higher (also been really hot in Cape Town so aircons been running most days too) so just want to find out if anyone is able to assist.

If usage is correct, then the mining is not worth it now. I know this is due to coins price drop but worked out to be just under R3k in coins after a month of mining.

I'm also holding some Monero, and used to mine some when it was still possible on a regular PC. Which other Privacy coins do you recommend?

I'm also looking for a nice, cheap rig on which to mine Electroneum and Monero.

What can I get for under 20 Grand?

If you looking for coins to mine hoping for a pump, look at BTCZ. Still very easy to mine and only 6 months old.

Which coins? Are your electricity free?

From the privacy stable, I have mined HUSH, ZEL, KMD, ZCL and other coins in similar lines. I pay my electricity, gambling on these coins spiking. I CPU mined ZOI, but it is too hard now.

I am currently pushing ZEL, very speculative as I don’t really trust the devs, but I want a master node. It is also cheap to invest in now. Be careful though…

From the above, I think KMD may boom at some point in time, mainly due to BarterDEX. BarterDEX is going up against CryptoBridge.

EDIT: It is not worth mining KMD anymore.
