Cryptocurrency Mining

Indeed but they still coining it big time! Only reason they released the x3 is because, baikal releases there miner. They been making big bucks mining monero. The fork will sort out the diffcutly on monero, which means gpu miners can switch back and diffuctly on other coins should drop also.

When you say 'they still coining it' I assume you mean Bitmain. No doubt they're the only ones going to benefit. Baikal's miner looks mickey mouse compared to the Bitmain version, but their price is better I guess. Bottom line is anyone who drops money on either of these will learn a painful lesson. What is it with these ASIC manufacturers and preorder... consumers are far too quick to shell out $$$ for something that does't yet exist. Even saw batch 4 sales going up for one of the other miners when batch 1 has yet to be released... trying to recall which it was.

Remember to update your XMR stak and cast xmr for the cryptoknight v7 mining, both has been updated to support it.

Is this going to affect ETN at all? I'm not really following it at all, but need to vaguely keep an eye on it for my brother in law

A part of me wants to buy some hardware, go to some secluded area with abandoned wear houses, connect illegally to Eskom and start mining.

How are the miners fairing on covering costs at this point? Things look pretty dismal.

And Bitmain is trying to release the F3 Ethash miner for $800. Desperate times lol.

HiveOS has released a new update which include the miners for the fork.

Your old custom xmr stak config won't work in the new version. You have to go and copy a standard one and edit it for 2 threads.

Kind of concerned about the future of GPU mining at this stage. With these ASICs coming out(i know about the potential eth fork) and the zcash devs basically stating ASICs are inevitable and they are reluctant to fork to kill off any potential ASIC dominance. Its basically saying to bitmain, get on your horses and make an equilhash ASIC

that combined with current state of alt coins(and crypto in general) doesn't paint a very rosy picture

Thing is, this is and always has been a hobby for me more than trying to get my first lambo
Will continue to collect them coins and maybe do some speculative mining such and RVN and the likes as long as i can carry the cost of the power(rig has paid for itself)

if eksdom gets their wish and even gets close to a 30% tarrif hike, it might just be time to call it a day

Also in the same boat except my rigs are still new....

Hi guys. I wonder if you can help. I have decide I am going to use prohashing.com for my pool. I am a newb OK...
Can you please tell me which wallet and exchange combination to sign up for as a South African, that you guys have used and actually works.

I am not wanting to convert to cash yet, just mine and hold on, but when the time comes it should work out.

Thanks in advance.

J

Since you only plan on holding. Best to store it in a hardware / software wallet where you hold the priv keys. The wallet depends on the coin you going to mine.

Thank you for the reply.
a)So I only need the exchange at the time of going to Rands?
b) Do you get a common wallet for Bitcoin, Litecoins and Ether? What do you recommend?
c) Or separate wallets for each? Your recommends on them?

Thanks a mil.

a) Yes. If you don't plan on actively trading, only put the coins to exchange when planning to sell.
b) There are lots and people have different opinions on what to use. I use Jaxx so that's one you can use for all 3.
