Crysis Rapes my machine

I’m not sure what’s going on here, but I have real decent machine, 2 gig ram sata2 hdd, 8800gts 640meg real good MOB, and a Core 2 duo 2.4ghz processor, but for some reason I can only run the game on low to medium settings, it can go on max but then it starts to lag and do funky stuff.

I heard that some guys had new drivers for the Cards installed to which I done, but still nothing, some other forum I read reckons he installed drivers for his Core2 processor, is that even possible.

Please help I really want to play this game and kind of depressed that my machine can’t handle it,

I can run it fine on medium with a res of 1680x1050 :)

Ati Radeon X1800 XT
2 gigs Corsair RAM
Core 2 Duo E6600
Windows Vista Ultimate X64

Still lagged in some places...but playable :o

Crysis won't even start on my current system, so I think we can charge it with attempted rape :D
 
i could run it with the graphics on medium/high 1024 x 768 res, without any slow downs. this was the demo though, with some of the pcs you people have you should esaily be able to run it on high without any problem, maybe try put the resolution down a whee bit?

another thing, the game apparantly runs far better in dx9 mode than dx10.

CHeck if you have programs running in the background.
 
It runs fine on my machine too

amd x2 4800
2gb ddr
nvidia 8800gtx
xp (very high settings "alles")

maybe it is a driver issue with the cpu, i dunno, cause u shud be able to run the game on high at least ... i am using the 169.09 beta drivers for the gpu
 
Used to run decently on my machine (20-30 frames) @ 13**x768 all on medium... Till i got to the alien ship and the stage after that, now running at like 10 - 20 frames... :(

250 GB sata2 HDD
 
Well I'll have to wait and see what happens to my poor machine. Cleaning up XP, defragging and updating graphics drivers for the big test next week :D
 
yeah have to settle for everythng on high (sound and physics on very high) to ensure some good fps, but still very good grapics

ps res at 1280x1024
 
If you guys are talking about the demo i realised that when i set it to very high it drains out on one of my cores(Q6600) i use sum core meter thing on vista,and the game is Ram hungry to.. 2Gigs is not enough on very high... but this is only on the demo i kinder thought maby the full game would have quad core support..
 
i had the exact same problem. 8800GTS 640mb, 3500+... bad slowdown in open areas with action....

!!!DO NOT USE THE LATEST NVIDIA STANDARD DRIVER. USE THEIR LATEST BETA ONE!!!

now im running 1680X1050. everything medium. very good framerate.. even with my 3500+AMD, its cool.

turn off motion blur, i find my 8600GT can run medium setting fine with motion blur off (no AA at 1024)

yeh, i dont see what the issue is. I have crysis (full game) and i let it auto-config the settings.

The maps look AWESOME with brilliant detail (just like FarCry did)

I haven't suffered one second worth of lag or jitter, even during explosives or cut scenes.

My PC spec:

AMD 3000+, 1gb ddr 400, 8600GT 256mb.

It's an aged pc, and i was thinking of upgrading it soon, but the way it handles COD4, crysis and MOH:Airborne, i dont have anything to worry about.
 
Runs fine on my 2.2 core 2 duo, 2gb ram and ATI 2600 (256mb) hp laptop with vista. No lag or anything that I have noticed.

Only problem I have is the mouse not lining up with buttons in the options menu. So I have to move the mouse pointer to the left of each button to get it work.
