... not happy with what I've experienced since switching to Fiber either, for what I'm paying now compared to the ADSL compared to what I should get...

Just looking, was think of Cool, but they don't even respond, and the prices they list is like 50% more, Hellkom, hmm damm, am Inheriting that much to do that to myself, not sure yet. know Vuma is doing allot up the road, so might be a option.

I switch from another isp to cw because of these issues, only nor the happiness to last a few month and experience the exact same issue on Cw

Looks like it. Their open-time is still cool though, so I'm sticking with an account for downloads, everything else is going through Vox.

not something to do with Shaun being banned on the forum maybe?

I don't see how, other ISPs have official reps that are not the CEO. Shaun was on the Crystal Web Management account and promised to communicate more, only to disappear and never return.

Communication via official channels is one thing, having a decent product is another. Crystal Web seem to have failed with both.

I'm still happy with the general performance, but there are dips every now and then that I can't explain, and things just sit there until I have to reset the router. I'm considering leaving for Telkom's HomeUnlimited uncapped offering because it'll be saving me a bunch of money.

Premium news server is crawling for me atm - generally around 1.3Mbps. IS server doesn't work for me so can't try that instead.

News downloads have always been ultra slow on CW for me though. Even when I took out a NewsDemon account out of frustration, it couldn't get over 4-5MB/s (usually much slower). In the Afrihost days all my news downloads ran at 9+MB/s, even when using the complementary Afrihost server.

Interested to see if anything changes once I'm on Cool Ideas from next month.

So I tried to sign up for a capped Crystal Web account to use as a backup on my 100mb fibre, the person I spoke to on live chat indicated that they ONLY do uncapped on fibre, and that they cannot provision a capped account on fibre?
Obviously this isn't correct? What gives :(

Which fibre network? They had capped and uncapped options for Openserve when I signed up. I'm on a 500GB capped account right now, as per my sig.

If you're not on Openserve, you cannot use a capped account as Bryn mentioned.

I did the same as you this month, I just opted to buy an XtremeTTH account and did not mention anything about fibre to anyone, but I am on Openserve.

Yeah Openserve, really frustrating, guess they don't really want any capped business then :)
