Crystal Web DSL performance feedback thread Part 4...

Still routing via JHB.

Just hopped onto live chat again and got the generic "I will take it up with management again" response

Same story my side.

Reported. If not fixed by the 17th I'm gone.

How useless can their network engineers be to a) either not be aware of this, and b) thinking clients would just be fine with this?

Also received the email this evening and flipped the switch immediately. Then decided to do a speed test and pings to the UK are now at least 40ms longer (from Cape Town). Also noticed "bad connection errors" popping up the last 2 weeks in Division (XB1). Mentioned this to support and they aren't aware of anything - and then I saw this thread...

Either way, I have to cancel because I'm moving houses but if things don't improve by end of april, I'm not installing CW fibre at my new house.

I'm cancelling

What's the proper process to cancel anyone
First of all, make sure your current invoice is paid. If it isn't, they will refuse your cancellation and keep your account active and keep on billing you. And don't try argue that point as Mr Paul Hjul will jump in and send you his legal drivel.

"A cancellation may not be processed while the parties are engaged in a dispute resolution process, or there is an outstanding invoice to be settled, or if a contract is attached to the service."

Edit - Holding out for a new news server. Will use an IS account for a bit, hopefully it's forthcoming soon.

The correct form to complete is http://www.crystalweb.co.za/cancellationform.php

Their support insisted they had fixed the quality issues, basically lying straight to my face. That, and the fact that their uncapped 10mb adsl costs me more than 20mb uncapped fibre.

CW used to be the best. Now, unfortunately, they're just another horrendous, tone-deaf DSL ISP.

Link doesn't seem to work - but seriously you can't cancel in the client portal, you have to fill in a form?

Is this 2005?

It works, I cancelled in the portal and got an email saying they processing the cancellation.so have my proof.

This is the most insane thing i have ever experienced. How can you roll out a new network when it is not fully working?
Fun thing is that you will have to pay 100% of your bill for sub par service that they are aware off however the eta is sometime in april.

I wonder how many CPT customer they are going to use for this.
Anyone know what is the potential downtime between cancelling CW and getting onto new ISP?

Eta for what?

Afik, you are supposed to give a month notice, I think before the 19th, but I might be wrong.

You can join any other ISP in the mean time should be able to login as soon as you have your login details.

The only possible down time could be if CW manages your line and you want to move it away to someone else. Not sure about the down time involved.

You don't have to move it away though. You can close your data account and join another ISP, but keep your line with CW.

THey dont have ETA on when the routing will be fixed.
Also they told me that i have to cancel my whole fiber so i cannot just have line rental with them. Which is fine. I have untill 18th to cancel if this issue is not resolved. It would be really cool if the issue is not fixed and they loose all of the CPT customers to see what it feels like to dnt give a **** about customers.
